Courtyard by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront North, Virginia Beach

I actually read all of the reviews on this site AFTER making my reservation at this hotel. The negative reviews made me nervous as our trip came closer. HOWEVER, I am thrilled to report that our experience at this hotel was excellent. We asked for early check in and they made sure it was possible. I asked for more soap and glasses in the room and it was there within 30 minutes. We ate at the restaurant and the food was quite good. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff came every day. The front desk crew were wonderfully helpful and tolerant of my many questions. The outdoor and indoor pools were clean. The only thing I saw that would be a concern was the indoor whirl pool at the indoor pool. It did need to be cleaned more, but other than that we couldn't have asked for better! We would stay there again without a doubt!

I loved eveerything about my weekend stay. The hotel is smoke free and pet free. All rooms are oceanside. First step into the hotel you are not disappointed. You see, smell and experience cleanliness, great friendly staff and very sufficient accommodations. The entire hotel is very well maintained all staff appear encountered were eager to assist in a very timely manner. My room was wonderful. It was super clean, fresh crisp linens, and a beautiful view of the ocean. I did not hear any noise or other activity from the hallways or any adjoining rooms. The accommodations served the my purpose for a great R&R stay for the weekend. Two thumbs up, will definitely return.

This hotel is definitley not what I expected. Requested early check-in, when I called they said they don't do early check-in, they said they were not sure why the website gave the option. Requested extra towels, barely had enough. Also, requested crib, had to call twice before i received. Staff were not all that friendly, except for the b'fast room staff, they were great. Indoor pool was cloudy and foamy (was not clean or healthy). Hot tub did not work the first few days we were there, and it was also dirty and cloudy. Ourdoor pool was so cold you couldn't swim in it. The ocean was warmer. After a walk or coming back from the beach with an arm load of items and 2 kids, tried to come through back door. Key would never work. Had to walk around to front entrance, sandy, wet, and with 2 kids and a large armload. Rooms were not what were pictured on website. Door in bathroom was broken, and closet was also broken. When I checked out they did not asked how my stay was, and I didn't bother because they can't do anything at front desk but say I am sorry for your inconvenience. I am glad the weather was beautiful, because if I would have had to stay in doors, trip would have been ruined. Would not recommend.

Where shall I begin? First off, all of the other negative reviews are spot- on and not to sound snobby, but the other reviewers must not travel much. This is the WORST marriott I've ever been to and don't even have the space to tell everything that went wrong, but here's a short list: -electrical problem caused LAPTOP, blowdryer, and lightbulbs to blow out, no offer to do anything about the damage. -had to call and ask in person for a simple box of tissues FOUR times -housekeeping never properly cleaned or restocked rooms...left 3 towels for 4 people EVERY DAY. -Elevators slow and over-used by employees. Some even used it to go to the second floor instead of using the stairs. -outdoor pool FREEZING -In door pool GROSS with a film floating on top and suds in the hot tub, no supervision to the young kids with no parents watching. -no cups or hot water for the complimentary hot tea & coffee -bla service, not attentive AT ALL and we are platinum members. -they actually even turned off the electricity to the room while i was in the shower. -no breakfast room service (and EXPENSIVE in the "cafe") -Ordered room service once and had to call down twice because they messed it up. Seriously, there are way better hotels and probably cheaper, too. Don't waste your time or money on this place. Don't do what we did - stew over the wasted money on the hotel when there were so many nice ones around. Shame on Marriott, this place was the worst.

This hotel had a great view, easy parking, and a super nice staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The indoor pool is a little small and was out of service while we were there, but they arranged us to swim at a couple neighbor hotel's pool. Our room was upgraded due to a minor confusion. Everyone was super nice from the Manager, to the desk people, to the cleaning crew.

i liked the hotel service, but the indoor pool was crowded and no one monitored the kids from jumping into the whirlpool. Nice location, staff was courteous, comfortable rooms. i would go back. thanks

The bath tub was clogged even though they claimed it was fine, the rooms were never cleaned thoroughly, we had to request for housekeeping, when they finally came, the only thing they did was empty the trash, took over an hour for extra towels, food in restaurant was kind of bland, outside restaurant/ bar the service was good for drinks, but if you wanted to eat you might as well have gone to the restaurant across town, because we waited almost 1 1/2 hours for an order of chx tenders one day and the following day an hour for a burger and fries.Internet connection was a BIG JOKE The pools were very nice and the location was good.

This was our first stay in Virginia Beach, as we always go to Ocean City,MD. We enjoyed the atmosphere very much. My kids loved the pool. The restaurant was just okay. I recommend finding alternate restaurants for dinner. Very clean and nice Hotel.

we have been there twice in 3 months and we are very happy with this hotel, we will not change.my favorite is the bedding I hope they dont change that.staff was very friendly everything very clean, food in the hotel very good.price is a little high,but was worth it.We checked several weeks before we made plans and we made the best decision.we plan to go back again in a few more months.By the way, we are from Conn.

Check in was to be at 4:oopm. Asked for early checkin and told they would do their best. Arrived at 12:00pm and was told the room and roses were ready. The front desk,restaurant staff(restaurant was "iffy"), and housekeeping were the best ever!!!!!!!!!! FUN,FUN,FUN, and romantic. It was worth the expense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
