Horrible Never Again! BUG BITES!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/8/11
Staybrige please keep your free hamburgers and free breakfast ..... please just give your guests a clean bug free room!!!! We stayed at this hotel while visiting Dinseyland. Room 518. The hotel lobby, pool etc were fine for a medium grade hotel. The room was very worn and tired. This was our first impression of the property. While getting settled in the room my Sister and I both agreed the room could have been cleaner. She owns a cleaning company so she does have high standards, but this was pretty obvious stuff. Dusty lampshades, the interior doors near the handles and trim were defintely not clean, stuff like that. Because we were traveling with children, we had anitbacterial wipes w/ us so we quickly wiped down the surfaces and door handles in the hotel room. Our thoughts at that time were 'We wont be in the room very much anyway, so oh well'. I was in store for a surprise though..... After the first night , while at Disneyland, I noticed a few bites on my arm. I thought maybe a mosqiuto or something had bitten me. However, upon waking up after the second night at the hotel, I was sure it was the hotel bed. I immediatly noticed many, many more red bites all over my arms, chest, back, etc. I could not believe my eyes! I had never seen anything like it! We showed an employee at the front desk my bites (the manager was not avaliable) and she offered to send maintence up to our room or move us to another room. Please send maintence!! We checked back later in the day to see if maintence had been to the room and were told maintence had been to the room and nothing was found.... Thanks a lot!!! The employee seemed very uninterested and said, 'maybe its an allergic reaction' The hotel has since directed us to their insurance company and we are very dissatisfied w/ the whole experience.

Disappointed, mislead, will not stay here again.
By Shannon, 10/3/09
When we booked this hotel for our recent trip to Disneyland, the location was indicated as about 1 mile from the park with easy transportation on the ART shuttle/bus. This was very misleading/inaccurate. It is much more than a mile from the park. The shuttle does run about every 20-30 minutes, but what they don't tell you is that they shut down entirely around lunchtime - so forget about going back to your room for a mid-day break. They also stop service 30 minutes after the park closes, so you will need to take a taxi back if you want to have dinner at Downtown Disney or a character dinner at the resort, or anywhere else really. The hotel is inconvenient to everything, which we learned when we arrived. The hotel is surrounded by a terrible neighborhood and the freeway, there are no restaurants (except the restaurant at the hotel next door - average and expensive, after all, you are pretty much a captive customer.) or convenience/grocery stores you can walk to - not that I would in that neighborhood. Would be better if you had your own car, although watch out for break-ins, there are notices posted at the hotel warning of the crimes. Also, we figured the complimentary breakfast would add value and be a plus to the stay. The food was terrible! The eggs were inedible, the quality of the sausage and bacon were similar to what you'd get at McDonald's. They have fresh fruit, yougurt - but it's the same everyday - no variety. They only change the style of eggs and switch between sausage and bacon. We stayed 4 nights, by the 3rd morning the kids didn't want to eat breakfast at all because they didn't like it either. If you're ok with complimentary cereal for breakfast, than this is ok - it's about the only thing that didn't taste bad. While the rooms were ok (old cigarette burns, stains on the carpet), I was looking forward to being able to use the refrigerator to have some easy and quick food available to save some money on dinners - unfortunately we couldn't because there were no stores nearby - you either need a car or take a taxi. Overall, the hotel is in serious need of refirbishing - everything seems to be marked, marred, stained, or worn out. The staff were pleasant at check-in and check-out, but it would have been nice if they mentioned the ART service breaks and stop times when we inquired about ART fares and service. This was a learning experience, next time we will stay at the Disneyland Resort - it's worth the extra money. The money we saved by booking the Staybridge turned out not to be a savings at all considering the transportation issues, location, and inconvenience to everything.

Real Review!
By Nick, 6/3/09
Pros - Best hotel breakfast setup I have ever had. On campus with Holiday Inn that has a good restaurant. Rooms nice with fridge, stove, micro, etc. Heated pool and easy access to the buses to and from Disney. Cons - Pool gate key entry broken (not that big of a deal really as you could still get in and out and if somebody really wants to get in, I'm sure it a gate like that won't hold them back) and there was some Fruit Loops dumped on the floor in the hallway for 4 days without being cleaned up, even though maid service definitely came through. In the end...what are you there for? Disneyland. The breakfast makes it well worth it and easy access to a bus that goes back and forth. Unrelated directly to the hotel. Buses claim to go half hour before to half hour after Disney closes, but usually the last one was 15 minutes after the park closes. We made them all but they jumbled around other buses to get people to where they needed to go, but I wouldn't risk pushing the half hour past park close...I wouldn't push 20 minutes either.

Going back this Summer!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/9/09
My family and I visited Staybridge last year, and we are returning this Summer. We are from the UK so we know what bad hotels are like, but this was clean and family friendly. Room was cleaned daily, and staff were very helpful with directions to resturants, shopping malls etc. Pool was great, and other guests also made us feel at home. And YES the breakfast was great! Cant wait to go back :)

I'm Picky...And I Loved It
By Denise, 6/2/08
I am someone who is very picky. I shopped around and decided on the Staybridge. I was VERY impressed when I first arrived with my husband. We were staying 5 nights. Clean, Clean, Clean. Pool is awesome and secluded with trees. (Drinks and food sold at the bar by the pool are VERY expensive though). Their free morning breakfast they offer is just awesome. So much variety. Nice computer room. Friendly staff. Shuttle is $3.00 per day per person to and from Disney. You can purchase tickets right at the front desk. The ONLY issue that upset us was when we booked online we did'nt know we were getting a smoking room, yuk! And they would'nt move us to another room because they were booked. So just beware if booking online that you don't get that option. But I will definately stay there again. Have Fun.....Denise from Washington

we will for sure be staying here again..
By C.C., 4/23/08
Me and family stayed in this hotel last summer for a disney vacation. We fit five adults and two kids in this spacious room. the Breakfast they provided was great and so nice to have to start our day with. They say they only provide limited housekeeping but the rooms always looked like they had been cleaned really well and the staff was very helpful in answering all our questions. I would recommend this hotel to anyone especially families.

we definitely recommend!
Just stayed there 3 nights. Had a two bedroom suite. Bedroom doors to each bedroom from the lr/kitchen area, so you can use the lr at night if you want. 3 TV's, full size kitchen, clean, quiet, great breakfast, even a free BBQ one night! Free chip/veggies/dip on another night. Attractive dining area. Excellent staff attitude. Room service is expensive, but not ridiculous.

Wonderful Stay !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/4/08
Our family spent two nights here ( 1 suite for me & my hubby, and 1 for our son, daughter-in-law & their two little ones ). Every staff member we encountered was courteous, friendly and accomodating. The rooms were very clean & the beds quite comfortable. The breakfast was as complete as any we've seen & the attendant kept everything very well stocked. The Disneyland bus stop is right next door. Thanks for a Wonderful stay !
