HYATT house Emeryville San Francisco Bay Area, Emeryville

Liked: proximity to the city (dislike: proximity to the Amtrak station...the noise is bad!!); there is a free breakfast but the food is mediocore. Location next to a fast food court. disliked: the smell! dirty. beds and blankets are really cheap. bring your own pillows...the ones in the room were terrible. carpets are filthy. kitchenette while stocked sufficiently had an electric stove top that did not work. They came to switch it out but the guy told me that it wouldn't matter...most of them couldn't boil water...which it didn't. Dinner in the hotel was just awful. Not the safest place to walk in the evening, but there is a movie theatre near by.

Because I live so far from the Bay Area, when my family visit from New York their first choice is this hotel. It is clean, modern and comfortable. I even move in with them for the entire stay. Shopping and restaurants are very close...walking distance in fact. Oh and did I mention that it is children friendly. Believe me when I say my family is very picky about hotel choice, especially with young children involved. I babysit the young ones while mom and dad are off to San Francisco for an evening of wining and dining. If the little one fusses just a little too much, mom and dad can be back in no time since the hotel is located close to the Bay Bridge. The view of The City and the Bay at night is absolutely stunning. The last two visits we've all stayed at this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

I am going to be straight to the point. When I checked into my room, things appeared average(old-vegas..smelly). The furniture was torn and the couch had wore spots in them. But, the REAL problem was that i noticed small blackish-red things on the edge of the mattress. Bed-Bugs...I could not believe it. I tried to get help from the front desk, and they acted like i was crazy. I don't think I ask to much for a room to myself without the company of bugs. Then, I realized that this hotel sits next to the Amtrax station. So, every 15 minutes, a super loud horn blasted for 10 seconds, every 30-45 minutes. But, back to the bugs. I was able to get another room, but by this time I was kinda freaked out. The hotel made a mistake for charging me for TWO rooms, due to my switch. I am trying to hammer out the mistake, but have yet to get credited for this. I travel all over, in all "styles" of hotels, and I will tell you, this was worse then ANY experience I've ever had. Also, very shady characters around. They Do Not lock any doors at night. It was disturbing, and cost me double(hopefully they'll fix this) for the bugs, trains, and wore-out room.

A jewel in the Bay area. Earthy tones and hues greet you on arrival in your suite. Your heart feels its welcoming warmth before you've even unpacked. Lovely furniture, well spaced layout and quiet surroundings make Woodfin a place to return to, again and again. Amenities in-house galore, AMTRAK behind the hotel, shuttles to BART and the 4 hypermarts for convenience, not to mention the bookstores, dining places and Bay Street's entertainment right on your doorstep. Awesome, breathtaking views of the Bay and/or the hills.Even the startling horn of the trains passing by fail to displace the peaceful atmosphere.Staff are pleasant with an ever-ready smile; and the pet-friendly hotel ensures your pooch isn't left alone. Highly recommended.

After 8 nights at this hotel I can recommend it highly. We were 3 adults and a baby in a 2-bedroom suite and really appreciated the conveniences of the set-up. The fully equipped kitchen was particularly useful. The location is wonderful with nearby shopping and dining. All in all we felt the hotel suites and facilities are excellent value and made our trip much pleasanter than a regular hotel would have been.

This is a wonderful hotel. Great location, great shopping, great food eateries, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT. I read the reviews that there were boycotters but figured that after 4 months they'd be done with their protesting. Wrong. Of the 4 nights I stayed, I only encountered the protesters one afternoon into early evening. I just turned up the airconditioner, put on the TV and wasn't bothered by their ranting after that. I can't rave enough about facility and location. Don't let the protesters keep you away unless as the other poster mentioned you are a late sleeper in the mornings. If you choose this hotel, you won't be disappointed.

The staff and rooms were first class. This hotel has been become my hotel of choice in the East Bay. I would highly recommend it to travelers. Spacious rooms, helpful staff, and professional. The restaurant, Emery Grille, had excellent food. The service I received there is better than many 5 Star hotels I have stayed at and at a very reasonable price. There was a labor protest there when I was there but the staff was excellent in explaining the inaccuracies. The City of Emeryville should be embarrassed to support the attacks on this fine hotel. I would and have recommended this hotel to others.

The hotel was wonderful to stay in but i do agree that it was alittle over priced. but its great for large group of guests. There was a boycott protest outside around 8 in the morning, so if you like to sleep until check out...i would not check in.

This is a clean reasonably priced hotel in the busiest part of the Bay Area. The hotel "suites" are clean if a bit worn. The staff is fairly efficient, but does not seem eager to go out of it's way to help if there is a problem. The breakfast is good, but really is no better than any other hotel in the area. The traffic outside the hotel is very busy and hard to manage and there are lots of homeless in the area. Crime seems to be a problem, but the hotel has very good security.

I like the location it was in a great area. I had a bunch of food places to choice from and they they were all in walking distance. I was even able to walk to the book store and the movies. I was right by Old Neavy, Gap,Coach, and Victoria Secrets. I really enjoyed my stay and plan to go back very soon!
