Clean, interesting layout, good service, great value

My husband, my daughter and myself were in Hayward to attend a sporting event. We checked in on dec 31st. On my reservation confirmation the 2 nights was $218 total (89 bucks per night)When we checked in the charged on my bank statement they held 260. I called the front desk when I saw the charge. The front desk clerk said they had charged for both nights and the remainder was for security. this was fine with me. After a long day of vacationing we got back to the hotel. Relaxed and got ready for our next exciting day of vacation. ( we had 5 msgs on our phone we checked them. No one left a MSG .) we were rudely awaken at midnight by phone calls and a loud knock at the door. The man Tony told us our card was declined when they tried to charge for the 2nd night? I i grabbed a robe and my iPad so I could show the charges were on hold in the pending part of my bank account.until check out . AS Anyone who is woken up in the middle of the night would be we were very annoyed to be in the lobby. We were.Tony just sat on the phone with his manager whom he did not allow us to speak to. My husband called Tony an imbecile for waking us up to discuss this error on their part.Tony then called the police.I was so thankful when the police officer arrived to explain our discomfort. The officer was very understanding to our situation. But because Marriott has the right to refuse service we were asked to leave. ( Tony never asked for money) we had 2 other cards we were using for vacation and our vacation cash for the next day. We are so upset and angry with Marriott for not only embarrassing us. Calling the police, and kicking us out of a room that was already paid for. Because of this we drove 6 hours to come home in the middle of the night. I strongly urge anyone who would like to visit Hayward to find another hotel.
