Christopher's Inn, Calistoga

We stayed in this winderful little inn for three nights. Each morning we received a lovely country basket at our door, so we had a special treat we don't often get--breakfast in bed! The rooms were lovely, done in Laura Ashley interiors, most with fireplaces, and the bigger rooms had large jacuzzis or sunken tubs. There is also a couples massage room right on site, so we luxuriated with a couples massage. The massage room was complete with fireplace, music and candles. We loved it!

We had a great weekend getaway at Christopher’s Inn. If you are planning a weekend trip to the wine country and need a place to relax, look no further than Christopher’s Inn at Calistoga. It is the ultimate in privacy and comfort. The fresh sweet scent of the many rose bushes and trees greet you as soon as you step out of your car. The rooms are luxurious, comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast is served in your room in a cute picnic basket. The staff is eager to help make your stay in the wine country a memorable one, offering suggestions and tips on the nearby attractions to suit your interests. We would highly recommend this hotel.

We found Christophers Inn about 10 years ago and have been going back ever sense. It is a very quiet comfortable Inn, the rooms are very nice and we had room 20 with a big two headed walk in shower (great). Our hosts are also super friendly and also quide us to resteraunts and wineries that serve to be remarkable. What is really great is the knock on your door at 8:00 am and they deliever a nice light breakfast. Very accommodating and very willing to make your stay very comfortable. Great location, right is the heart of the wine valley away from all the hussle and bussle. Fireplaces make it very nice for a romantic time with the one you love. I am sure you can find a newer establishment in the valley, but you cannot find a better place to stay, Sometimes it is the personal attention you get that makes the stay absolutely wonderful.. We find our stay here to be very satisfying and very relaxing. We recommend it to everyone. Please take the opportunity to stay and relax and engaging is some great conversations with your host. Thank you for a great weekend, thank you for always treating us special. We had a great time, and highly recommed Christophers Inn. The cost of the rooms is very in line with the rest of the valley. My boyfriend treated me to a special spa getaway at Christopher's Inn - complete with a couples 2 hour massage. Our room was filthy. There was mold in our spa tub and shower curtain. The windows were dirty and the carpet needed vacuuming. We never did get to use the spa tub. The curtains were removed for cleaning and did not return until hours later. The tub never did get cleaned. We did receive a belated apology but no offer of compensation of any type for our inconveince ... not so much as a bottle of wine. On check out, I let my displeasure beknown and we offered a free night's stay at a later date. I refused. I will not stay in a dirty room ... even for free. My romantic birthday getaway was ruined. I would never return.

We booked 5 rooms, got confirmation numbers, and were all set to head up to celebrate our mother's 75th birthday. We were notified a week later via e-mail (not even given the courtesy of a phone call) to say our reservation had been canceled because we had not booked a Thursday or Sunday night. Obviously someone had called them and wanted to book for a longer stay so they canceled our reservation. The website says NOTHING about having to have a Thursday or Sunday night. When we queried their action, the owner was rude, condescending, and suggested we take our business elsewhere. Easier said than done at this late stage. He stated that they "reserve the right to change their requirements as needed". If truth be told, they were simply not willing to honor the reservation because something else must have come up. Completely dishonest! We have traveled the world and NEVER dealt with a situation like this. We would NEVER attempt to stay there again nor would be suggest it to anyone else.
