Overpriced, but better than most alternatives
Service in the restaurants is abominably slow. I waited 45 minutes for a simple short-order meal and it was NOT crowded... literally fell asleep at the table while waiting.
The staff is nice enough, if a bit casual. The place IS clean, and compared to most everything else in Guinea, it was a treat. That said, anyone claiming there was nothing wrong there, that it deserves five stars, is either from Guinea or needs to get out a LOT more.
Would I go there again? Yes, as the alternatives can be disgusting. This place's AC wasn't going to make anyone feel cold, but it kept the room cool enough to sleep comfortably. The bathroom was nicely redone in an upscale way. When one is traveling in W.Africa, the requirements are considerably reduced from what most travelers are accustomed to. That in mind, this is one of the nicer hotels in Guinea, and the electricity was on all the time. Staff was inobtrusive (to a literal fault). Paying even $100 a night is rediculous for such accomodations, but never pay the $160 published price. Go there remembering that this is Africa and you'll be fine.
