Bed bugs and the snow storm
By In the Storm, 2/6/10
The lobby appeared to be clean and the room. It appeared to have new carpet and counter. Curtains were bad. When I sat on the mattress it made loud noises. In my second week, I began to itch and called (I was staying at the hotel alone) my husband that something was biting me at night. He said it was bedbugs! I had heard about them but did not know what to expect. You cannot see them. I reported the bugs to the office. I was told I would have to move out because the room had bugs. When I got back to my room, they had torn the head board off the wall and mattresses were uncovered. They told me I had to move out of the room so it could be fumigated. This was in the horrible snow storm on 2/5/10 in Richmond between 1:30-2:00 P.M. They could not put me in another room due to contamination. They gave me some plastic bags to put all my clothes in and told me "to wash everything in hot water because hot water would kill them "so I would not take the bugs any place else. Some of my clothes had to be dry cleaned. It was frightening being in a city alone having to move out during a snow storm. This place was recommended by my husband’s co-worker. We told him DO NOT recommend anyone else to InTown Suites.

stained sheets
By RobertO, 3/20/06
This was probably the worst hotel that i have ever stayed at. 1) The sheets and blanket had a pink stain on them. I had to remove the sheets and use my own because I was afraid of the hotel sheets. 2) The carpets had white staines on them. 3) The hotel was very smokey. 4) The hotel staff was rude, and harrassing. I was yelled at for walking to the candy machine in my socks.

Horrible place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/05
I've travelled all over the world and this is the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The room was dirty, staff were unavailable during even the minimal posted hours of 11-7, no supplies/linens, etc. You have to carry out your own trash at the end of your stay or be charged $25!!! Towels were like tiny flimsy sand paper. Tissue thin toilet paper lasted about 3 days and they refused to give me more. The mid-week cleaning didn't happen, but someone came in my room and rearranged some things. I can't wait to see if I get my deposit back; from what I've read, I can kiss it goodbye. The icing on the cake was the morning I accidentally locked myself out of my room. Supposedly there was a security guard available when there was no-one at the desk. However, after waiting 30 minutes and ringing the guard's room and knocking on his door numerous times, I had to leave for my morning meeting without my meeting materials or my purse. At lunch I drove across town to pick up these things, and was told by the person on the desk that there really wasn't a security guard on duty except 11PM-7AM!!! The rest of the time, you're basically on your own. What if I had aciidentally locked myself out of my room as I was taking things to my car to leave for the airport?!?! Or what if there had been medicines in my room that I had to take every few hours?!?! I have no idea what I would have done. This is an unsafe situation. I realize that minimal staffing, minimal service, and minimal supplies are how they keep costs down, but this is beyond belief. Also, I felt rather scared here, as a female traveling alone, given the obvisouly transient guests that were here. Bottom line: NEVER NEVER NEVER stay at an Intown Suites.
