Not the Marriott you want it to be
By Sheryl, 3/5/12
While I normally enjoy my stays at various Marriott properties, I found this to be a less than worth-while visit and frankly completely against the values that Marriott claims to put forward as a part of their culture. When I checked in I was unceremoniously handed a key with the room number written inside the key pocket. The receptionist looked frankly annoyed when I asked what room I was in, and in reply she opened the key pocket pointed and lifted her eyebrows. I should have left there. The only room service is from Chilli's across the street. This makes a healthy, good meal nearly impossible...and if you're lucky you'll get it luke warm. The icing on the cake was that the valet parking LOST my car keys. At $38 per day, plus a hefty amount more in taxes, call me crazy for expecting more. Rather than admit their mistake, I was left waiting for hours, while being repeatedly told that my car was en route. At no point did anyone from management approach me. When, finally, the valet admitted what had happened I could at least produce my spare set of keys that I use when traveling. It was incredibly fortunate that I had them with me. At this point I was too upset to seek out management myself, and took a card from the front desk so that I could later speak with the manager. When I did call back later I learned that the cards on the front desk were out of date, and that the person listed on the card as the manager had actually not even worked there for some time. Amazingly disappointing experience.

We will most definitely be back!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/11
We had a 4 1/2 hour drive in traffic and needless to say we were tired and late. When we pulled up there were two valets and a bellman waiting and from that point on the service was unbelievable. They unloaded our car and gently loaded our luggage on the cart while we were able to go to the front desk and within minutes and the swipe of a credit card we were in our room. I had requested extra pillows and a room with a view and was not disappointed to find that and our beds turned down when we walked in. From the front desk to the room service to the maidstaff we couldn't have asked for better service. As I had never been to Philadelphia before I was sort of flying blindly when it came to reserving a room but I relied on the Marriot reputation as well as a phenomenal discount by using my AAA card and we were not disappointed. This was a business/pleasure trip and we will be back in Philly every couple of months and there is no doubt where we will be staying,

The nicest marriott courtyard!
By N1001, 11/23/09
The moment I stepped into this hotel, I was amazed by the beautiful architecture/decor, proximity to the city, and FRIENDLINESS of the staff! This Courtyard Marriott courtyard is so much nicer than it's sister "Marriott" down the street. No complaints! (and i'm very difficult to please) This is no ordinary Marriott Courtyard!

Exemplifies the "City of Brotherly Love"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/26/08
I found the hotel front desk staff to be extremely accomodating. They truly listen to your wishes and aim to please. Our room offered a lovely view of the city. Would not hesitate to return.

Loved it
By MelissaD, 5/14/08
My room was perfect and quite. The staff was willing to work with my disabilities and didn't mind taking any extra time out to help me get on the buses. They really went above and beyond what was needed to help me out. They gave me a large hand telephone so that I could call the desk so that they could place the phone call for me. They actually had a female worker help me with bathing and getting out of bed. I can't praise them enough.

Nightmare
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/07
The air conditioning was broke in the middle of June here. It took them a day and a half to fix it and their online wireless access was terrible. We called a number of people to get help and no one seemed to care. It was the low light on a pretty nice trip

Very pleased!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/5/06
I was very impressed with this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable, with a lovely lobby. Some of the staff were very friendly, some not so much -- but it didn't distract from our overall good experience. Room service was fast and delicious. The breakfast buffet in Junipers was very good. You can't get up to the room floors without a key, which made me feel very safe. The view from our room was spectacular, a beautiful view of City Hall. My only complaint was that we had queen beds and the fitted sheets seemed to be made for full beds -- they were too small and kept slipping off as we moved around during the night. But overall, great hotel. We had a wonderful time in Philly!
