Save your money.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/10
The Hotel was overpriced for the size of the rooms. For a famliy of four it was crowded. The shower head was too low and had little pressure, but the hot water was indeed..HOT. The breakfast bar area was way too crowded and you had to wait in line for waffles...yes waffles. If you are elderly or have trouble walking then be warned that even though it is only two floors there is no elevater so you have to walk up and down stairs. Dont bother eating at Fazoli's (right next door) the food was horrible. Stay FAR away for the Plantaion Pancake House (about a block South of hotel) it smells like urine inside and the food was nasty. Hamburger Joe's is wonderful! On a positive note: Very friendly and attentive staff and in a good location.

A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/10
Mostly everything was excellent. From the pleasant staff ( Theresa) at the front desk to the cleaning staff. Good brkft., nice pool, clean rooms and place to eat next door (italian) Only wish there was a small fridge in room, and micro in room. But this was not a reason not to stay there. It wasn't the $300. @ night place with all the fancies, but who needs all those things. Everything you need is here for a pleasant stay. Very close to beach, food , stores. Thank you ! If i am ever in this area again,i will stay here again.

I Always Stay Here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/26/10
I always stayed here (2004-2009) everytime I would come to MB. The staff is friendly, the breakfast bar is always kept full and they try to accomodate any room request. I had a complaint about an employee working at the reservation deak one time and that employee was no longer working there later.I have twice left behind something - isn't that how it goes? And both times the articles were mailed to me (my cell phone and eyeglasses). I live here now. I am a Realtor and I do recommend it to customers - I've always heard from them positive feedback. And I always put my relatives and friends here! It isn't oceanfront but the location is good and easy to find.

Thieves
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/08
My wife and I stayed for one night. When we checked out we overlooked and left a large bag of Yankee Candles in the room, $76.00 worth of candles. We realized this when we were unpacking at home, 3 hours away. I immediately called the hotel and notified them knowing they could be shipped to us. We told them the exact location on the floor where they were left. The desk person said we will check but no one has turned anything in from the room we stayed. After calling back numerous times to the hotel and the owner at his residense no one had seen them. They said keep checking your car. The owner's wife was very rude on the phone and didn't care about the customer service aspect. Just, "How did you get this number", "Don't ever call here again". I filed a complaint with the BBB. I realize they are not responsible for any valuables left in the room per hotel policy, All I wanted was to be reimbursed the money of the candles. I know they found them. And probably split them up between the staff and are burning them as we speak in their homes. If I owned the hotel I would have honest caring employees that were well versed in excellent customer service and cared for and about repeat customers. After all we the customers keep them in business. The staff found the candles and kept them, instead of doing the right thing which would have been, found the candles, looked up who had stayed in the room, called the person, and arranged to have them shipped to the owner. You know the HONEST way of doing business. They put on a good front but prey on what they can find when HONEST people leave. Lesson learned. I will not nor will anyone I know ever stay at this uncaring, dishonest, unprofessional dump!

OMG STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOT MESS!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/2/08
**UNSATISFACTORY HEALTH CONDITIONS/ LIVING AREA- 8 inch gash/rip in the carpet/filthy/torn/dirty frayed pieces. BATHROOM Handrail along bathtub secured by silver duct tape. MATTRESSES heavily soiled/grossly stained. Box spring had what appeared to be a DEAD INSECT APPROXIMATELY 1 INCH COCKROACH SHELL AND ENTRAILS/SOME UNIDENTIFIABLE FOREIGN MATTER (POSSIBLE FECES) stuck/embedded on the top portion of the box spring. FURNITURE Nightstand/dressers had scratches/large chips/dents. The overall room was dingy and definitely not aesthetically pleasing or restful. The furniture appeared to be old in poor condition. ROOM ODER Cigarette smoke FILLED the stairwells (MAIN) access area to all rooms-corridors/NO ELEVATORS on site, causing musty smell. UNSATISFACTORY FOOD PREPARATION/HANDLING OF BREAKFAST BAR The Breakfast Bar-monitor was observed several times coughing/hacking onto her uniform sleeve and placing her hands over her mouth and face area. During this same period, she would then turn and arrange the fruit and pastry dishes. AT NO TIME DID SHE WASH HER HANDS/WEAR A PROTECTED MASK/OR FOOD GLOVES WHILE HANDLING BREAKFAST ITEMS. Several times, the female blew on the waffle iron to blow out the waffle crust left behind. Food and milk were poured/placed back in original jugs and boxes. FRONT DESK HELP Lack of professionalism/poor customer service and lack of common courtesy. Substitution-room had paint peeling from ceiling and soiled mattress as well. What a NIGHTMARE and HOT MESS! HOWEVER, GET THIS JOKE …. Lobby plaque read 100% satisfaction guaranteed…(YEAH OKAY that happened…NOT) they also had BBB decals/ plaques proudly displayed. **TRUST ME folks I have PHOTOS! I made a formal complaint with the BBB and attached 24 visual aids, city officials have also been contacted on this jewel.**Spare your family PSYCHOLOGICAL & MENTAL ANGUISH… THIS PLACE IS A BIOHAZARD AND PUBLIC SAFETY/HEALTH RISK**

This Comfort Inn is reasonably priced, it suits our needs, and it is close to everything. We enjoy the complimentary breakfast (especially the fresh hot waffles)and the swimming pool. The staff is attentive.

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/24/07
The staff was super friendly and the rooms were extremely clean. The breakfast was wonderful and the breakfast room was clean. The staff member who helped in the breakfast area was helpful and made sure that everybody had what they needed. I was traveling with a handicapped child without my husband and I felt very safe.

Great value; employees who care
By S L, 7/31/06
We just got back from a 3 night stay and really enjoyed the experience. The "Comfort Shine" Breakfast was complimentary and included bagels, toast, pastries, waffles, apples, bananas, cereal, juice and coffee. The breakfast room was a bit small and crowded but was kept clean and the food was refilled regularly. The staff was most helpful and truly cared about keeping us happy. The only complaint is that there is no elevator but it was not a problem for us but it could be for others who are not informed of this ahead of time. The pool was a good size with plenty of chairs and some umbrellas for shade. The location is great but not oceanfront. There is lots to do when you take 17 bypass up to Myrtle Beach (about 12 miles away to Broadway at the Beach). Even with gas prices so high, we saved money by staying in Surfside Beach (due to lower occupancy taxes). The beach is a short ride and if you drive to Garden City Beach, you can even find free parking! Murrell's Inlet is a great place to eat fresh seafood. We really enjoyed the Marshwalk after dinner. We love this area and go back often.

Roach problem
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/23/06
We saw two roaches in our room within an hour of check-in. Mattresses and pillows were also old looking but bathrooms and room looked clean. Service was friendly and helpful. Good location for airport. But they definitely have a roach problem.
