A REAL DUMP!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/10
This hotel had nothing nice, the view was aweful, they only serve breakfast which consists of 2 choices if dry cereal, scrambled eggs, toast which tasted like cardboard, and ham that was cold, and not cooked, the ham I believe was lunch meat you buy in the grocery store, the coffee was just absolutely horrible, all the cream and sugar in the world does not help!!! There is no place to eat, no place that delivers, so if you plan on eating you are out of luck unless you are willing to drive every nite to a restaurant. They have no kind of vending machines, no kitchenette to cook your own meals, not even an ice machine!!! No bar any where!!!! The rooms are dirty, constuction going on all around you. This is the worst place I have ever stayed in!!! I would never recommened this palce to anyone!!!

MODERATE HOTEL NO RESORT!
By Miss Dee, 01/10/09
HOTEL IS NICE AND CLEAN YET MAKE SURE ALL THE AMENITIES LISTED/SHOWN ON INTERNET ARE OPERATIONAL AND FUNCTIONING AT PRESENT TIME! CHECK RESTAURANT (CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST ONLY (7:30-11:00AM)) & BAR ARE OPEN & OPERATING AT ALL HOURS DURING YOUR STAY! PARKING IS LIMITED; ONLY ON STREET OR VALET. 20-30 MINUTES SOUTH ARE METERED PUBLIC PARKING LOTS. THEY ARE WALKABLE. GO TO THE POOL EARLY AS BY THE AFTERNOON THE SUN IS BLOCKED BY BUILDINGS. BEACH IS WALKABLE AND VERY NICE TO SEE OR BE SEEN ON! SUITES ARE SMALL; 4 ADULTS COMFORTABLE; MINI KITCHEN OK; BE VERY CAUTIOUS WHEN OUT ALONE! STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS! BE POSITIVE, SAFE AND ENJOY SOUTH BEACH MIAMI FLORIDA! ENJOY THE SUN AND HAVE FUN! :-)

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/08
THIS HOTEL IS DEFINIETLY A DUMP!!!!!!!! MY FAMILY AND I WERE SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS HOTEL. OUR MOUTHS DROP WHEN WE ENTER ROOM 401. IT WAS FILTHY, AND DIRTY. THE WALLS WERE CRACK AND HAD STAINS. THE WINDOW IN THE BATHROOM HAD NO BLINDS FOR PRIVACY. THE CURTAINS IN THE BEDROOM HAVE NOT BEEN CLEAN IN OVER 10 YEARS. THEY HAD SO MUCH DUST PARTICALS THAT YOU COULD SEE THEM. THE FUNITURE WAS SO DIRTY AND OLD THAT WE WERE AFRAID TO SIT DOWN IN THEM. THE PULL OUT SLEEPER HAD SO MUCH STAIN AND A FOWL SMELL THAT WE ENDED PURCHASING AN AIR MATTRESS. THE CARPETING ON THE FLOOR WAS HORRIBLE. IT WAS DEFINITELY A NIGHTMARE. ACCORDING TO THE INTERNET, THIS IS SUPPOST TO BE A 3 STAR HOTEL BUT IN REALITY IT IS A ROACH HOTEL. THE HALLWAYS SMELL AND ARE FILTHY. IT HAS WALL PAPER THAT HAS BEEN TOREN . PLEASE DON'T LET THE PICTURES ON THE INTERNET DECEIVE YOU. THE ENTIRE PLACE HAS NOT SEEN FRESH PAINT IN OVER 15 YEARS. THE FREE BREAKFAST IS THE SAME BORING THING........EGGS, STALE TOAST, COFFEE THAT TASTE LIKE INK. IT IS NOT THE PLACE TO EVER STAY. I BELIEVE THAT THE MANAGER IS CLUELESS AND HAS NO IDEA WHAT A DUMP, HE IS RUNNING. IF THE MANAGER HAD ANY IDEA, OF HOW FILTHY THIS DUMP IS, HE WOULD DO SOMETHING TO HELP IMPROVE ITS APPEARANCES. I KNOW I DEFINITLY WASTED MY MONEY AND TIME IN THIS GARBAGE DUMP. I HAVE FORWARDED A COMPLAINT TO CONSUMER AFFAIR. PERSONALLY, MY MONEY NEEDS TO BE REINBURSE. SO YOU HAVE BEEN WARN.STAY AWAY FROM ROACH MOTEL........YOU ARE BETTER OFF STAYING IN A SHELTER.

It's the only hotel to stay in Miami
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/15/08
I loved it while we were staying in Miami Beach. We had 2 rooms and they were next door to each other. On the day we had to check in,We checked in close to dinner time, and we never had a chance to go on the beach. And we had to order a Chinese delivery. And on the 3rd night,We had to get new access keys.We loved it and we missed it.And it was great for my cousins from London. We want to go back whenever we go back to Miami Beach.

Terrible Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/07
Have to agree with the general opinion given here by others - STAY AWAY!! We checked in and looked around. We were very disappointed. The street the hotel is on looks highly dilapidated and the exterior of the hotel matched. We walked in to the lobby and it seemed clean and airy, so we dismissed the first impression from outside. We entered the lift and the wallpaper/paint in the elevator was ripped off/missing in a number of spots and there was a wet/musty smell. The first impression became foremost in our thoughts again. We got off of the elevator and the smell was even more obvious in the hallway. We got to the room and we realised we had been conned. The room was dirty and certainly not what is advertised on the website. We took pictures to compare so that we can try and get our money back - little chance I am sure but I like a challenge. The rooms are smaller than described/shown on the website. Windows, curtains and even bed sheets were dirty. As for the "kitchen". The fridge was damaged, the door almost hanging off, there were crumbs and bits of food from previous guests in the cupboards and even the lights would not work. The building across the street, although it looked deserted, could see in to our bathroom, as the blinds only covered approx. 80% of the window. After a few hours at the beach - Miami beach is just 200 yards away - and driving around Miami, we got back to the room and all decided to go home. We had driven 5 hours from Orlando to Miami and spent just 4 hours there before making a 4.5 hour drive back, largely due to the hotel. As a family we didn't feel comfortable or even safe there. As a side note, we even drove past once when we first got there, as the Hotel has changed it's name - presumably trying to avoid the bad publicity it is getting?? - and we were not aware, despite a reservation confirmation a couple of days earlier, as that still carried the old name. I probably should have guessed there were problems when the two people at reception arrived were arguing/debating with the receptionist, although I could not clearly overhear what it was about. However, when checking out and the guy on recption "reminded" me that we were not supposed to be checking out until the next day, a different couple also by reception did smile at this. Perhaps they too had the same idea!?!?

The Worst Service I have ever had
By J, 02/06/07
Although this place is far better kept than the majority of roach motels along Collins Ave that are much closer to South Beach, the service is also much worst. I spent 5 days in this hotel. 3 of 5 days I argued with the service desk (an oxymoron) about having to check out of room that I already paid for. I spent two days trying to get clean towels. The time I spent in the room I spent watching a dinky little television with bad cable reception. I had a suite with two queen size beds with a kitchen and a let out sofa. The room looked nice and was comfortable. But the service was awful and I would never stay there again.

Beware
By StormCowboy, 01/17/07
If you want to waste your money, frustrate yourself and ruin your time away from home. This is the place to come. Service was horrible, attitude of not caring.

Not bad for the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/06
The rooms were clean, decent and spacious for the price, atleast during my stay. Rooms come with a full kitchen (no oven), stove, microwave, toaster. Kitchen comes with eating utencils, glass plates and cups. Staff was extremely nice and prompt with our requests. The food is the typical cuban food, not the best, but extremely cheap in cost. Ex: cuban sandwich, $3.25!! Great gourmet restaurant across the street at the Palms Hotel. There's a pool table inside the lobby by the bar and wood domino tables outside. Pool extremely clean and quiet. Lots of seating space in the lobby and by the pool. Easy access to beach right across the street. Beautiful beaches in this section, there are two pool like beach sections with rocks, extremely beautiful! I took my dad and family for the weekend and we really enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. It's not a happening location, it's more calm and cool. I would definitely go back with the family. If you want a party scene, then head more South, from 17th-1st.

Last Resort to stay in
By Caramel, 06/12/06
Before I booked this hotel, I reviewed all the information. On the website it says that ALL the rooms come with a separate living room and eating area. They gave different options for other rooms such as a double bed, King size. Needless to stay me and my boyfriend got the "Villa Capri Deluxe" room which comes with a double bed. When I arrived at the hotel there were a few unsatisfied customers at the front desk arguing with the attendent. Well I checked in and proceeded to my room. There was only one working elevator so the wait was a couple of minutes and only about 4/5 people can fit in the elevator w/no luggage. I arrived at my room and it was like a little box. The bed, couch, eating area was all next to each other. I read my paperwork again about the hotel and was wondering where the separate room was. I proceeded downstaris to the lobby to question the attendant. I asked her to first explain "Capri Deluxe Room" she answered that is the room you are in I stated that I understand that is the room I am in but where is the separate living room. Her response was you booked a "cheap room" you don't get the seperate eating area & living room. I then pointed to the write up from the website when it said ALL rooms come with seperate living rooms/eating area and her response was again you booked a cheap room and that is what you get maam. It would have cost me an extra $100.00 to book a room with a double bed. I didn't need a double bed so why would I chose that selection, nor did I need a King size bed. So because I didn't need those to options for $100.00 more I got stuck with the a "cheap" room. The carpet was lifted off of the floor. Someone didn't lay it properly. Everyday I had to call downstairs to get a washcloth. They know two people were staying there yet they only put out one washcloth. The parking was $15.00 per day and the parking attendant only ran out every 15 minutes. My experience with this hotel is not to book online with them because you aren't getting what you would expect.
