bed bugs
By Justin, 06/28/09
This place was gross. Only stayed an hour. The manager was horrible. I found bugs in the bed and the manager came upstairs and changed the sheets. We left and went down the Hampton Inn.

DON'T BRING YOUR CAT!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/09
The title says it all! Internet says 'pet friendly' and print ad says 'pet friendly' so we made a reservation and said we had two pets. After a full day's drive we arrived tired and worn out at 10:00 with our dog and cat and were tersely informed that they DON'T ALLOW CATS!!! We pleaded with the manager but no go. We were forced to go down the road to Days Inn, a real dump! Why don't their listings say dogs only? Actually, we had stayed here a month earlier with our dog and cat. Apparently an inexperienced clerk let us in.

Bad service,
By Julie, 09/04/08
I stayed at this dump, for one night, I checked out in the morning and went down the street to another hotel. The room was filthy, obviously had not been cleaned since the last guest except for making the bed. The carpets throughout the entire hotel were filthy and discolored. The hotel is so close to I-95 that it is impossible to sleep, the ...

Great hotel !!!
By Joanna, 04/03/08
My husband and I planned a 5 day trip to Kings Dominion for Spring Break and we stayed at this hotel with our 3 children (ages 5,6, and 11)and highly recommend it. (We are from Delaware) We almost reserved a room at Kings Quarter hotel which is right at the entrance of Kings Dominion but were relieved we didn't because is very old and shabby. Although Howard Johnson is 5 miles from the park it was a quick drive on the highway and had an ENORMOUS varity of restaurants and shopping choices (from Burger King to Red Lobster, Rite Aid drug store to Walmart) We stayed on the 3rd floor in a suite which had a queen bed, double size pull out sofa bed, wet bar with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We even saved $ by stopping at the Walmart (.8 miles from hotel) and purchasing juices and refridgerated breakfast sandwiches to heat and eat at the hotel each morning before going to Kings Dominion. Housekeeping cleaned our room everyday and provided clean towles, coffee packs with cream and suger and also vaccumed. Sam at the front desk always greeted us whenever we went through the lobby and we really liked the security at night because you could not enter the hotel doors unless you had a room key to swipe through the card reader. Although we were on the side of the hotel facing the highway and could hear the traffic, it wasn't a problem getting to sleep after spending 8 hours a day at Kings Dominion and had the air conditioning on as we went to sleep. Highly recommend this hotel as we will surely be staying here any time we vacation to Kings Dominion.

A filthy hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/07
This hotel was filthy. I wondered about the place because the carpet was filthy in the lobby and halls but stopped wondering when I saw the room it was worse than the hallway. It isn't worth the money. There are many hotels in the area, any one of them is better

Very Nice Hotel and Good people.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/07
Very nice expirience in this hotel, Front desk guy SAM was very pro very helpful and good english, he help me and my wife to take our sfuff to our room, we pay less then any other hotel we stayed but room was very very nice, in lobby area carpet was bad but I understand WHY. They do not allow breakfast to the room because people do mess in the room and carpet cleaning is not cheap. They have hot breakfast and I like that we travel every year from NY to Fl and we would like to stay in this Hotel every time. I was reading other review and I understand the guy writing bad about the hotel because thy told him not to take breakfast to the room.I sent greeting card to the hotel just to say Thank you. God bless America.

A dump!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/07
I stayed at this dump, for one night, I checked out in the morning and went down the street to another hotel. The room was filthy, obviously had not been cleaned since the last guest except for making the bed. The carpets throughout the entire hotel were filthy and discolored. The hotel is so close to I-95 that it is impossible to sleep, the truck noise is terrible. I wouldn't eat the breakfast, the area was just too filthy, there is no pool and the desk clerk, who can't speak english, attempted to charge my company account and my personal A. Express card for the stay. There are several good hotels just down the block, do yourself a favor and stay away from this one.

Great stop for KD visits!
By gail, 06/25/07
First of all, Im in a wheelchair and on a vent so I am very picky about where I stay. This place exceeded my expectations. Good price and a nice handicap room. Bathroom is big and it had a rollin shower with a bench(awesome)The air conditioner is ice cold, i had to turn it down. Beds were a good height and very comfy. Great internet connection!

Fleas in both beds/Dirty carpet/Smelled Awful!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/07
There were fleas in each of the two double beds and also a dog in the room next door who barked the entire time. Reported barking dog to Mgmt and they said they could not do anything because the guest was not in the room. Over two days and nothing was done about the dog. Free breakfast was served from dirty buffet area. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. Comforter on bed had cigarette burn hole. Screen torn from part of window. No complementery shampoo but did recieve some random oil of olay sample ?? I was asked not to take my free breakfast back to my room to share with my friend who was hurridly getting ready. Was told too many people spill food on carpet. However, dont see how that would matter as the carpet was terribly stained throughout the hotel. No pool as stated in review below. Cheap rate but would pay more to stay at a nicer, cleaner place, with good service.
