Never Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/29/10
After traveling fairly extensively throughout the world, (many times with tour groups), I can say without hesitation that this hotel is one I will never again stay in. The bellhop delivered luggage to our room about 30 minutes after my husband and I arrived while on a cruisetour. Unfortunately the bellhop DIDN'T BOTHER TO KNOCK ON OUR DOOR FIRST before just barging right in to our room. The next morning, at 9:00, the maid DID THE SAME THING. Just barged right in without knocking -- we couldn't believe it had happened twice. (Checkout time is noon, so no excuses for her!) Then, as part of the cruisetour, we were told to leave our luggage outside our hotel room door upon checkout, and the hotel would store it for the day until our evening flight out of Anchorage. We observed multiple rooms with luggage sitting outside them, but no bellhop in sight, so we took our own luggage to the desk where someone was organizing the luggage storage. When I told them we had brought our luggage to be stored until our departure later this evening, I was chastized for bringing it down myself. (I had not offered any comments about the bellhop's behavior the night before, or our concern about unattended luggage at this point. Frankly, I didn't want to complain and have their staff retaliate while our bags were stored at the hotel.) If that wasn't enough, the guy in charge had our pick up time wrong for our transfer to the airport, but he actually began to argue with me that his information was right -- despite my telling him when our flight was --- which clearly showed his information was incorrect. The final straw was that a fellow cruisetour member's luggage was sent to the airport too early by the hotel staff. As a result, it was unloaded by the transfer bus driver and left on the curb at the airport UNATTENDED. If my husband and I had not noticed after the bus pulled away, who knows if the owners would have ever seen the luggage again! And we all know what unattended luggage at an airport can lead to -- havoc! When I asked for a comment card to fill out at the front desk when we departed the hotel, I was told someone had taken all the cards. Maybe too many complaints??? Avoid this place if you can.
