worst campground ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/05
This is easily the worst campground I have ever stayed at, which is saying something as I have been in campgrounds in 38 states. The bathrooms are locked, which was not told to us when we checked in and because of this we did not think to ask fo a key, which was not offered to us. When we did get in the bathrooms there was no toilet paper and all the garbage cans were full and the counter covered with bugs. This did not change until I finaly complained about it the next morning. After that the women's bathroom was at least stocked and "clean", unfortunately, since my husband did not complain the state of the men's bathroom did not change. They, however, could get in without a key as a fellow guest took it upon themselves to find a screwdriver and remove the door handle from the men's bathroom. I wore my flip flops in the shower and I would advise anyone to do likewise as it is questionable as to what exactly is growing in the stalls. It did have plenty of hot water, though. Our power hook up at our campsite did not work so it was a good thing we had a long enough extension cord to reach to adjoining campsite. The lake in the area we were in was heavily used and thus the shoreline was very dirty. Is it really that hard for people to collect their trash and throw it out? But I guess since the containers at the campground/lodge were full to overflowing it didn't pay to try and keep the lake clean. I would reccommend saving money and staying at one of the many forest service campgrounds around the lake. You will have to forgo power and a shower but the trade off is well worth it.

Won't returen
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/05
First this place has great people working there and they give wonderful service (except maid service) The room we stayed in was in ill repair and dirty. The carpeting was so dirty I did not want to walk on it without shoes. Moulding seperating from the walls, sink was rusted out around overflow drain, dirty windows, inadequate towels, band in bar kept us awake and I could go on and on. The price was pretty reasonable but I still rated it poor on value. They should have paid me to stay in the room. Whatever good we experienced there was overshadowed by the bad.

Unbelievable this kind of place still exists

This place in the center of all the outdoor recreation activities you could ever want but without the expense. Great Ski area and snowmobiling out the back and when we came back, we had great food and good service.
