Fidalgo Country Inn Anacortes, Anacortes

I stayed at the Fidalgo it was very nice. I would stay again. Loved the food made it easy to eat and the drinks in the front area. thanks for that.

Not a fun experience. i would not recommend staying there. The manager was caught lying about her position at the hotel. she was unreasonable when trying to work out a simple parking issue.

A snowstorm hit Anacortes, Washington and due to collisions, road closures, etc., we were forced to pull off of the road and stay at The Fidalgo Country Inn. Room was overpriced and dirty. You definitely get that "creepy crawly" feeling. Drab and dreary, completely depressing lighting and "decor". When you pay over $160.00 for a hotel room, you expect things to be clean. Their "rack rate" was double the price it normally is and "varies from person to person". When we complained we were told that we "don't know the hotel business and how it runs" and that "we should have known to ask for a discount". Staff was unprofessional and rude. We could not wait to leave. When the storm broke later that night and the road cleared a bit we decided to make a break for it. THAT'S how bad it was. When I called the next morning to check-out we were told we still had the key and would be charged $10.00 for it. Again, over a barrel and no other way to deliver the key (they wouldn't accept us mailing it to them), we were charged for it. Again, rudeness and this time the front desk "person" actually raised her voice to me. Unbelievable. Sorry, but any good reviews have to be coming from either the employees or a few years ago, when it was an actual decent hotel. Please, do yourself a favor and never stay at this hotel. Go into the town of Anacortes, there are better hotels with better service and better rates.

After our wedding reception (around 12:30am), my husband and I went to check into our room that had been reserved three weeds prior. The clerck at the front desk said he,"forgot to put something in the room." Forty five minutes later (1:15 am) he came back to check us in. We found out he had forgot to restock our shampoo and soap. Meanwhile, I was sitting in their lobby in my wedding dress and my husband in his tux. The room was dirty and smelled, but we slept because we were worn out. Three weeks later we were notified that they charged us 300.00 EXTRA for Smoking in a nonsmoking room, when we are NOT smokers and DID NOT smoke in their room!!!! The manager is rude and completely unprofessional, the lobby is a mess and the staff is unfriendly. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone and I was born and raised in anacortes. There are other better hotels in this beautiful town.

When we checked in at 7pm the desk clerk was rude, we went to the room and everything was tidy. Pulling back the bedspread, sheets were dirty with hair. The desk clerk (owner) came to the room and kept saying "I can't believe this" 20 minutes later we got another room. Never again! We are in Anacortes every month. Not a "fun" place!

The most rude and dishonest experiance I have ever had!

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I booked and received a confirmation for a standard non-smoking king room, and when I arrived, the room had two queen-sized beds (which I acutally think were doubles). I spoke to the front desk help and they said there was nothing they could do. I asked if I could be moved to a king room and they said only smoking was available. I said I'd like to cancel my reservation and go elsewhere and they said I would be charged anyway--even thought it was entirely THEIR error and not mine. They even checked their records and told me it was their fault. The wallpaper in the room was peeling, it smelled like an old library, and I would have paid no more than $60-75 for the quality of the room (I paid $110). Their website pictures their SUITES only, not their standard rooms, so don't let that fool you. If you're going to stay here, you might as well stay at a Motel 6 and pay half the price.

I loved it rooms where very clean and the staff very friendly was a great location with many wonderfull resturants close by.and it is just a few mins from the ferry to the san juan islands.

These rooms are way overpriced! Cleanliness of the rooms was not impressive. Comforters had stains and smelled disgusting. Would not stay here again!
