Beautiful place, gorgeous room
By Ruth, 2/16/10
My husband and I spent one night here February 2010 before flying out of the Austin. This is definitely a 5 star hotel. We did not have much time there, unfortunately, so were not able to take advantage of the breakfast or extras there, as we didn’t arrive till nearly 10pm and had to leave for an early flight. However, the atmosphere is very, very lovely and romantic here. The room was gorgeous and the bedding soft, soft, soft and inviting. The room very clean and staff very accommodating. The shuttle was perfect and they start very early am in order to catch those early flights out. The only downside was the little coffee pot in the room did not work well and turns off as soon as it brews, so you end up with cool coffee if you don’t drink it right away. We’d love to go back here to actually enjoy all the extras and ambiance here. A very, very good value and lovely place to stay!

So-So experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/11/09
Traveling with the family and had a breakdown on JetBlue, they put us up at the Austin Airport Hilton. When I called to ask about rooms ajoined they said sure no problem. When they found out I was paying with vouchers all of a sudden the rooms were gone. Terrible cheap service from thier front desk staff. The food for dinner and breakfast was not great either but the service was very good. Overall I am glad I did not pay for this hotel. I will not recommend it to travelers I do business with

So convenient , so nice, an island of comfort !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/16/06
This is an extremely impressive hotel reminiscent of the Gaylord Texan. The domed lobby was very impressive, and the decor was very bright. Of course it was close to the airport. The hotel shuttle runs every 15 minutes 24/7. I was particularly happy with the stay and fly option. You can valet park your automobile, and pick it up when you return, up to five days later. You save an average of $15 per day on long-term parking. Of course, you are staying on an island as there is no action within 20 miles! But if you are planning an early morning flight, it is marvelous to avoid the hideous traffic jams. The rooms are quiet as well, there is no evidence of noise from the highway, or even overhead jet liners.

Old style charm next to the airport
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/27/05
After a long day of conferences, and an early morning flight, this was the best location. What I didn't know was what great service I was going to get. Everything from room service to check out. It was a great experience. And well worth the cost.

unique property, average rooms
By Wesley, 5/19/05
The Hilton Austin Airport is definitely a place worth visiting, but the rooms are nothing special. The hotel building is a former officer's headquarters from when the airport property was an air force base. They've done a nice job of creating an elegant and soothing atmosphere throughout the hotel. The room seemed a bit small, though, and the two-bed rooms only had doubles (no queens). Everything seemed to be designed for the business traveler instead of vacationers, which in all fairness is appropriate considering the hotel's location. One good thing, however, was the great view of the surrounding area from the window (we were on the 4th floor). The $8 per night parking fee is inconvenient, but again, this should be expected at an airport hotel. I'm glad I stayed at this place once, but next time I stay in the Austin area I will probably choose a hotel with bigger beds and a free breakfast.

Great Austin Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/05
This hotel has a friendly and efficient staff. The rooms are very comfortable with good amenities. Meeting rooms are easy to find. The lobby of the hotel is very nice- a lot of eye pleasing architectural touches. There is a large bar in the middle of the lobby. Located at the airport, the hotel is a 20 minute ride to downtown and the Capitol. It makes up for this by charging about 50% of the rates of comparable downtown hotels.

was okay for a hilton.........
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/14/05
trying to keep in mind that this building used to house government offices, I tried to be somewhat open minded about the place. But it was far from spectacular. It was nice and very pretty, but the rooms were terribly small. Neutragena products made it better, but paying for parking always puts a damper on things.

Great hotel! Airport parking!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/14/05
What an absolutely beautiful hotel! BIG rooms, breathtaking lobby. Definitely worth visiting again. I used the parking package and got a steal over Christmas. I will be back!
