Be Live Grand Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort, Punta Cana

Im going to save myself the time writing a long review and just tell you to read what others wrote about the 1 and 2 star ratings....its true. It felt like I was staying in a used up has been resort they're waiting to demolish when something better will come along to put in its place...

people are very welcoming specially at the beginning, overall it was an okay experience due to this issues: 1) there wasen't a first aid kit no where at the resort. 2) The wheelchairs were older than my grandmother, damaged and only 2 of them. 3) poor communication among staff memberbers, specially when you have a problem and some where very rude. Overall the best expereince was with people at restaurants and animatiton. Would I come back ????????

This was the worst resort I ever stayed in: • When I arrived although there were only 2-3 guests at the front desk, there were several employees standing around. I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me, finally after 15 minutes I approached the desk and most of the employees did not speak English, the one who did said we all had to wait for the one employee who was doing check-ins. • My reservations were for a beachfront junior suite. I was given a basic room in the last building on the resort nowhere near the beach; my view was over a pool looking at the balcony of the other building. • When I enter the room, my bed was not made-up, the linens from the last guest were balled up on the bed, and I called the front desk. The maid arrived speaking very little English and asked if I wanted new linens or did I just want her to make the bed? • I went to flush the toilet it was leaking. • The movable mirror on the wall feel, I picked it up and tighten it up on the wall. • The next day I went out to the beach arrived back to my room after 6pm a guest was yelling at the maid, another couple of guest were stand in the middle of their room looked shocked and I entered my room none of the rooms had been cleaned yet, the maid finally arrived at my room at 7pm. • When I used my Jacuzzi tub it must have been installed improperly, when I got out of the tub, I noticed that there was water all over the bathroom floor going out to the bedroom ever. • The food was horrible even in their specialty restaurants the food was less than adequate. None of the meals provided you will any Dominican Republic Local Cuisine. • The nightly entertainment was horrible, no local Dominican Republic bands. They did a Michael Jackson show, other than the weather, there was nothing about this resort that screamed Caribbean. • The night club was a joke I had more of the Caribbean music and night life at the local hole-in-wall bar a few blocks away & I hate bars. • I will never stay at this place again and I have told all of my friends not to stay here.

The pools were great, very clean. Don't dare drink the 16 ounce bottles of h2o in the room fri. That will cost you $7.00 US $/piece. Take your own washcloth. It is a good thing we did as we got ours 5 hours after our showers. I think there is a shortage. They take you to a beautiful lobby only to find you are at the down grade. What a disappointment. I was stopped when we checked in by a lady who warned me of what was to come & boy was she right. I feel sorry for the employees there as they catch the slack for alot that they probably shouldn't. The food was so-so. Check-in is a very long drawn out circus. Hope you have ALOT of patience. My LAST visit to a BE LIVE. !!!

We just came back from this vacation and the hotel was not what I had in mind. We were upgraded to the Grand Oasis Bavaro since they didn't have anything available at the Punta Cana (This is just one hotel with two different entrance) The rooms were ok for the price, but the AC doesn't work on the top floor of the hotel. In one of the rooms there was a big leak (More like a shower by the closet) apparently this was due to a condensation from the AC my friend called the front dest to complaint about it, at the same time, the thermostat in my room was reading 76F so I called to complaint about it but it was rediculus when another guess was out of the room waiting for maitenance to come an fix his AC, they showed up after 45 minutes. The front desk people are very laid back and lock of professionalism. You have to pay $20 to be able to use the safe in your room, out of 4 restaurants 2 of them have a fee of $16.00 each, not everything in your refrigerator is free (Only 2 sodas and 2 beers). The beach and room towels are very old, and some times you have to wait for them to wash the towels for you to get clean towels in your room (How pathetic), some of the waiters at the restaurants are very helpful and they are attentive to anything that you may need. THERE ARE TOO MANY VENDORS!!! you can not relax by the pool when you have vendors approaching you to sell you merchandise, tours or vacation packages. There are not enough cups/glasses by the pool bar, it was funny to see some of the guess to be looking for glasses around the swimming pool so that they could get a drink!!! I will not go back to that hotel...

We just got back from this resort. It is a two star at best. There were so many problems small and large that I could not list them all. I am not a picky person and could probably slept on the beach all week but if you pay for a 4-5 star resort, you would expect better. The resort is not ready to have guests. Most families waited from 3 to 8 hours for a room. We saw and spoke to about 20-30 families over the first two days having the same problems as us. We arrived at 2 and got a room at 7:00pm. Some did not get rooms until 12:00 in the morning. They had no room keys so they told us to get a guard to open the doors. Trying to find a guard when you needed was a chore. We had three rooms. No A/C in one, the fan in the second room made so much noise that we could not run it while in the room or at night, no control of the A/C in the third (50F or 80). They ran out of beach towels several times a day. They ran out of vodka several times and we had to wait til the next day. You need to get up early to get a lounge chair on the beach and even earlier to get one at the pool. We saw many argument about stolen chairs. The food is just average. Getting reservations at the hibatch restaurant is a trick. You need to get there by 5:45 and wait until 6:30 when it opens to get in line to make reservations for 1 of the 9 seating available the entire evening. The wind here was 20-30 miles per hour with rain every day but that was not their fault. However, dozens of rooms had the roof leak over their beds and complained parts of the ceiling were falling on them as they slept. The halls are always flooded during the rain. Two inches in our room by the door. My sons room door would not lock and we had to wait two hours for a repair man to come fix it. The state of the art Gym is a small room with 1960 bar bells. Our three rooms had no cable TV however I did figure out how to connect them myself and program the TV channels. There were no towel racks or toilet paper holders in the bathrooms. No handles on the shower or toilet doors. Room service was non existant unless you called several times. Rooms were made each day by 6-7:00pm. We always were out of bath towels. We had suites (Prefered Club) but there were no draws to put our clothes. My wife kept hers in the night table drawers and I used my suitcase. The floors in the rooms and parts of the lobby are smooth tile that were like sheets of ice when wet. We fell or slipped many times. Watch for parts of the sand that has cement chunks exposed (that hurt). Looks like left over from construction. One of three Hobi saleboats were broken making lines very long making there first come first serve policy anoying. We had to stand there for up to 1-2 hours to get the next available one. Well I could go on forever but this should be enough for you to make your decision. There are too many great resorts out there to waste your time on this one.

The resort was gorgeous! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I didn't particularly care for the food at the buffet but the food at the restaurants was very good. I usually ate litely at the buffet and waited for a good meal in the evening. Our room was kept very clean. People need to keep in mind that this is the Dominican Republic, they don't do things exactly like they do in the US. If that's what you want and expect stay in the US. But if you want to see another world and experience a different culture this is a fantastic resort to do it in. Especially for the price. My husband and I would go back in a heartbeat!!

It was our 4th time to Punta Cana, second time here. Poeple are wonderful. Great food. We were there the 1st. week of Oct 2007, off season, we were upgraded to building 7. great room. At the spa got the nails done and a couple of massages . we walked into the little town , went to the market. got some rum about half the cost they wanted at the resort. we walked the beach west ,after the two resort next to Globia it was over an hour till next resort. took the outback safari "8hour" we had fun all day. Wanted to go into town to Hard Rock Cafe ran out of time. free bus runs into the shopping area all day. guess will have to go back next year. Only downer, someone threw cigarettee butt on side walk and I stepped on it, had a bluster all week. grrrrrrrrr life is a little slower so go relax, slow down, and enjoy. Tare included but people only ,make in american dollar, about $100 to $125 a month so a buck here and there goes a long way. you give a couple bucks for great service and you will be rememmber all week.

Spring Break 2007 will be remembered by my 18 year son, family and 5 of his 18 year old friends also for a long time! The boys and families all had a great time at the Globalia Punta Cana Grand. The food, service, staff friendliness, landscaping, room cleanliness, the ocean/view breathtaking. We all had no reason to leave the resort except to shop at the "locals' huts" on the beach. The only "dislike" was the disco. Too hot and too small for the boys. However, the shows in the outside theater were excellent especially the Michael Jackson show. The Beach Party was unbelieveable with the amount of great food and show. I definately would go back. This year's graduating class is already puting a group trip to go.

It started off a little rocky at first, but it improved as the week went on. Check-in is at 3 but our room wasn't ready until 4:45. The staff was friendly, with the exception of one bartender. There were five of us on this trip and he was annoyed that we didn't order all our drinks at one time...we were the only ones at the bar at the time! The buffet menu changed every night which was a plus. Don't miss the dinner on the beach party...great food and live entertainment. We were not impressed with the food at the restaurants in the hotel. We stuck with the buffet. The three pools were nice, the pool bar at the main pool was again..a big plus. The beach area was clean and you didn't feel like you were on top of each other. Now the nightlife, there is a disco on the premises. Its not big and the DJ needs to update some of his music. There's also a piano bar across from the disco bar. One thing they needed to do was turn the A/C on in both rooms. Hot rooms and lots of cigarette smoke. The is also an outdoor theather with a different show on every night. Over all we enjoyed the hotel and would definitely consider staying there in the future.
