We were visting Graceland and decided on Motel 6 because that is our motel of choice. We like that they accept pets and we never go anywhere without our 2 dogs. We checked in and the room we got had a huge hole in the wall and there was no AC unit in the room. I called to the front desk and they put us in another room. There was an AC unit in that room but it didn't work very well. We woke up several times throughout the night and sweat all night long. The WIFI is the worst. I go to school online and that is very important to me and I would have never gotten the room there if I knew the internet would work only here and there. I called the front desk for a good 30 minutes and got no answer. I then went down to the front desk where I waited for another 10 minutes. No one was there. So, I gave up and went back to the room and on my way back I ran into an employee by the name of Sara. I asked why no one was at the front desk and she said she had to check rooms. Although she was polite, I found the staff very incompetent.
I vacationed in Memphis, TN. and stayed at the Motel 6. The location was good and within just a few blocks walking distance of Elvis' famous house Graceland. Only, I prefer taking baths and they only had rooms with showers, no bathtubs. My room was scented nice and it was sparkling clean. It was 95 degrees outside but they have an outstanding air conditioning system, and my room was ice cold ready for me. Emphasis on "ice." They had a beautiful swimming pool in the front, but I didn't have time to take a dip. The room had cable t.v. with a large number of channels to choose from.
The front office counter was so sharp that I cut my arm when I reached in my purse to pay for the room, but the lady gave me medical attention right on the spot and provided me with a band aid. They gave me a wake-up call everyday exactly when I requested it, and gave me extra towels to use. The lady at the front desk laughed at everything I said, which was nice. The room was slightly expensive for a Motel 6 and just me(one person), but worth it because of the location and all the attention to detail and my needs.
I did hear people slamming car doors at night(thin walls I guess), and a jumbo jet flying over every so often, but otherwise it was an overall great experience. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. It was very entertaining and fun!
