Also Dissatisfied
I was one of the other parties mentioned by the previous reviewer, and I only regret that his review was posted before mine.
My wife and I (along with two female friends and my mother-in-law) traveled by car roughly 900 miles to attend my sons Marine Corps graduation at Parris Island. We arrived after a 16-hour journey (and two hours after our room was scheduled to be ready) to find that our room was not ready for us. We didnt wait long, however, to find no towels in the room, and the aforementioned filthy stove. We were not impressed with the overall cleanliness and presentation of the room, from dirty bathroom walls to the loose electrical outlet cover discovered by my wife.
All three rooms had been reserved by credit card, and two of the three parties renting those rooms were present for check-in. As we all entered my room to hang-out for a while after the drive, we were contacted by the manager, claiming that we were not allowed to have that many people in one room. Our room was on the second floor, at the far end of the building. Was he watching us? We were convinced of this after our female friends left their room later in the evening to join us, complaining that the manager had repeatedly walked by their room, looked in the window, and called them asking about the arrival time of the rooms remaining occupants. We also received numerous telephone calls from him, asking us where the rest of our party was. We explained that, due to weather conditions brought upon by Tropical Storm Tammy, flights were delayed, and we had no control over their arrival time. This explanation was not satisfactory for the manager, and we ultimately had to pay for the remaining room outright to stop the phone calls (the room was still on deposit). This type of behavior continued throughout our two-day stay.
Thankfully, we were only in the rooms to sleep, as we spent our days in South Carolina at Parris Island. We enjoyed the hospitality of everyone we met down there, except for the unfortunate experience we had at this establishment
