Loved it
By Bill, 6/16/11
We live in Savannah and came down for the weekend. We chose it because the reviews and proximity to the waterfront. The room is modern and the bathroom is great. Huge shower and tub. The staff was great. We will definately be coming back here!!

Fantastic!

We had just moved to Beaufort and were delayed in moving into our new apartment and chose this hotel — no regrets! Great location, rooms, service and bathtubs.

Newly renovated--best value in Beaufort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/10/11
Traveled to Beaufort for a holiday family gathering/wedding. We were going to stay at the Hilton garden, but my wife's mother told us about the City Loft. Called and a very pleasant young woman named Charlotte gave us a rate of $129.00. What a fabulous room. Everything was spotless. They have big comfortable beds, and furniture made by local artisans. The bathroom has to be seen to be believed. Big shower with spray from all directions, and a huge soaking tub with a flat screen TV. They have a well equipped fitness center with a personal trainer, and a terrific coffee shop with sandwiches, salads, breads and such if you get peckish. Beaufort's best shops and restaurants are steps away and the hotel is in what's called "The Point" where most of the fabulous homes are located, so it's good for walking/sightseeing.

Incredible, deserving of much higher marks
By Philip, 5/4/10
Yahoo should delete the reviews from the Red Carpet to give City Loft a fair chance. The renovations put into City Loft were extensive, and it is by far a completely different hotel. City Loft was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The rooms were the cleanest and the staff was the friendliest. The furniture was very comfortable, especially the bed: Sealy Posturepedic Reserve. Yes, it was so comfortable I had to check the tag. I want one now. My wife and I stayed at City Loft for our first anniversary, and having gone to Charleston for our honeymoon and tried to squeeze everything we could into that trip, we wanted our anniversary to be low-key with very little driving other than the initial drive to Beaufort. We got just that with City Loft, as it was right downtown and just a short walk away from Bay Street and the waterfront park. It was a nice, relaxing weekend.

Renvoated in 2010 - City Loft Hotel
By ADT, 4/19/10
This hotel was recently been bought and renovated from top to bottom by a local business man. The reviews that you are reading must be from the old hotel. I have nothing but praise for the new owner and staff.

Worst Hotel Ever!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/11/07
This had to be the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in! The towels fell apart while trying to dry off, the alarm on the clock didn't work, the light in the bathroom flickered on and off almost to the point of having a seizure if you stayed in there long enough, the outlets in the room sparked when trying to plug in a cell phone charger, there was a dirty, nasty rag stuffed in a hole in the wall due to the bathroom doorknob having gone through the wall, the refrigerator was nasty as was the microwave, burn holes in the sheets, the shower area looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a LONG time.......UTTERLY DISGUSTING! The only reason my family and I stayed is because everything else was booked due to the Blue Angels air show. My 10 year old son even expressed concern of how nasty it looked. Not only was I embarrassed, but I was charged 85.00 per night (2 nights), for what I would honestly consider to be a 30.00 room if that. I am absolutely appalled that this hotel is even able to be in business.

Utterly Disgusting!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/22/07
The room looked unclean, the slight switches were filthy, there was a wash rag stuffed in a hole in the wall in the bathroom where the door knob had gone through. The towels fell apart while trying to dry off. The alarm on the clock didn't work, the phone had been gutted and was filthy. Will never stay there again.

Never Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/07
I stayed here in December 2006 for my son's graduation. This hotel really was bad and I think I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car. There was holes in the walls, broken electrical outlets, broken tiles, holes in carpet, and holes in bedding. Can't say if stove worked since I didn't use it, but wouldn't have been surprised if it didn't. Price they charged was outrageous too! Never again! Only good thing about this place is that it is close to Parris Island. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worse enemy.

Worst Experience in my Life
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/06
I have stayed in many hotel/motels in my life, and this was sincerely one of the worst, if not the worst. Missing tile, broken light cover in the bathroom, old nasty looking pillows, holes in the towels...the list goes on. Ask to see the room before you pay to stay there. Considering they get booked up every weekend for Boot Camp graduation, I can't understand why the owner won't spend some money to fix the place up. I am just trying to find a way to complain to Red Carpet Inns Corporate HQ.... J.C.

Also Dissatisfied
By Derek, 10/14/05
I was one of the “other” parties mentioned by the previous reviewer, and I only regret that his review was posted before mine. My wife and I (along with two female friends and my mother-in-law) traveled by car roughly 900 miles to attend my son’s Marine Corps graduation at Parris Island. We arrived after a 16-hour journey (and two hours after our room was scheduled to be ready) to find that our room was not ready for us. We didn’t wait long, however, to find no towels in the room, and the aforementioned filthy stove. We were not impressed with the overall cleanliness and presentation of the room, from dirty bathroom walls to the loose electrical outlet cover discovered by my wife. All three rooms had been reserved by credit card, and two of the three parties renting those rooms were present for check-in. As we all entered my room to “hang-out” for a while after the drive, we were contacted by the “manager”, claiming that we were not allowed to have that many people in one room. Our room was on the second floor, at the far end of the building. Was he watching us? We were convinced of this after our female friends left their room later in the evening to join us, complaining that the “manager” had repeatedly walked by their room, looked in the window, and called them asking about the arrival time of the room’s remaining occupants. We also received numerous telephone calls from him, asking us where the rest of our party was. We explained that, due to weather conditions brought upon by Tropical Storm Tammy, flights were delayed, and we had no control over their arrival time. This explanation was not satisfactory for the “manager”, and we ultimately had to pay for the remaining room outright to stop the phone calls (the room was still on deposit). This type of behavior continued throughout our two-day stay. Thankfully, we were only in the rooms to sleep, as we spent our days in South Carolina at Parris Island. We enjoyed the hospitality of everyone we met down there, except for the unfortunate experience we had at this establishment
