Brides Beware
By PAT, 9/8/09
The hotel advertises a rate of $99.00 per night for the hotel. If you are part of the wedding party or an invited guest, you get the pleasure of being upcharged by almost double. When I contacted the hotel and inquired as to why wedding guests are charged almost double, the desk clerk (Kelly) said they change their rates all the time and really had no explanation. I would hate for future brides to tell their guests they are getting a "discounted rate" to attend the wedding and then they find out that the hotel "up-charges" the wedding guests and gives a discount to people "off the street". I am sure this hotel makes a sizeable profit off the weddings, it seems a shame to penalize the wedding guests who attend the wedding and stay at the hotel. Future Brides, please encourage your guests to check out other hotels, even if they have to drive a short distance. This hotel has no restaurant, no bar, no pool, actually - nothing but rooms. No valet to help with luggage. Some of the rooms are on the third floor and no valet to help with the luggage. It would definitely be worth the time to read this review and make reservations elsewhere. Again, Brides Beware!!!!

No longer in the quiet country
By San Marvelous, 3/22/09
The area around Vintage Villas has recently been overdeveloped, including abandoned construction directly adjacent to the property. The view outside of our window was of several very tall, incomplete buildings falling quickly into disrepair. It was clean and eveything worked, but it was hardly worth the price. The real disapointment was the attitude of the woman at the front desk. We might not have been as bothered by the surroundings if she hadn't been so rude during each interaction with her. Every question we had ("Where's the ice machine?") was met with downright disdain. No southern hospitality here!

location decent...service not so much.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/1/06
This is the worst experience I have ever had. I would never return. The service and hospitality was terrible. It seemed like the employees new nothing. What was supposed to be a pleasant experience, turned out to be unforgettable for the worse.

Way overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/06
For $189 per night, we expected quality. We got tired towels, stained and filled with holes. We got treadbare sheets. We got badly matched furniture and bright yellow walls. We got lots of stairs--dirty and buggy. We got one night with a party that lasted until 1:00 a.m. with lots of loud music, screaming and slamming of doors. I'd rate this hotel a two-star at best. The Holiday Inn Express is much nicer.

Take a pass !!
By Travis, 7/29/06
Gotta tell you, I am a little suspicious about those other reviews, specifically the source of them, as in maybe some folks connected to the establishment itself?? This place is overpriced. The furniture in our room was flimsy, the bed linens threadbare, and the bath linens did not even match. We were in the "East Texas" building which meant a 100 yard hike for ice - no, the ice machine was not broken, there is no ice except at the reception area. The place seems to be a destination for weddings of central Texas folks, fine folks I am sure, but this means a gathering of lots and lots of pickup truck driving, hard drinking, loud versions of such folks that kept us up to all hours and frankly had us wondering about just getting up and driving off in the middle of the night. And whoever is impressed with this view of Lake Travis has not seen the real views available at much better spots along the road. Oh, and the AC ran all night almost but not quite loud enough to drown out the partying, so even if it is a quiet night outside, expect the AC to disturb your sleep. I could go on but won't.

A terrific stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/06
Eat early or eat late, but don't miss the Sunsets from the balconies of the rooms. The king rooms have private balconies. Ask for 3rd floor...best views. Bring a blender and make your own frozen margaritas. Also, don't miss the breakfast the next morning - it is included.

Wow - what a find!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/10/06
We always look for something a bit different and unique in each area we visit. We are not the chain hotel or franchise restaurant type. Sometimes these experiences can be hit or miss. Vintage Villas is a hit. We got a king room with large jacuzzi bathtub overlooking a wide sailing basin of Lake Travis. We sat on our balcony and watched the sunset. The hotel is a bed and breakfast type with all of the service and aminities of a 4 star Hotel. They call Vintage Villas a "Boutique Hotel" and I think that the name fits. The hotel is on the Austin side of Lake Travis and near Mansfield Dam. Don't mis the terrific Texas style breakfast. All you can eat with coffee and juice for $8.

Beautiful! Will stay again!
By theresa, 7/25/05
We decided to stay here in lieu of other Lake Travis accomodations/B&Bs and we were happy we did! We loved Vintage Villas! We took some tips from previous hotel guests: request a king room on the 3rd floor. We stayed in room 136 (it is a corner room). The view from our balcony was amazing. Our room was large (huge bathroom), jacuzzi tub, large stand up shower, robes, Bath & Body Works products, comfortable bed, lots of windows, small bar & sink, refrigerator, microwave, etc. The only thing that I can say to improve on would be a better showerhead and new bed covers, like simple white duvets. But with its current amenities, this room could definitely command a higher nightly rate. We only paid $179 for a weekend night. I think we got a great deal, compared to the surrounding B&Bs which were charging in the neighborhood of $225/night, with a minimum 2 night stay. Great for a short getaway. This location was also convenient to everything (restaurants, boat rentals), even Austin, which was a quick 20 minutes away.
