Holiday Inn Exp Stes I 90, Rapid City

The hotel is run down and for weary travelers that are sightseeing they make it very hard. The carpets were so dirty and moldy that it gave me a headache. The suites are not nice and not worth the extra money. There is old heater/air conditioners in the room and very loud, the hotel needs UPGRADING. The breakfast was terrible, and I have been staying in a different Holiday Inn for the past month. Staff just did not seem to care---

Pro's: Very Clean Room. Very Friendly Staff. Nice Shower Head. Con's: 1) The king bed was terribly uncomfortable. We woke up every morning with lower back pain. The pillows were just as bad. After sight-seeing all day long, we did not look forward to hopping in the bed at night. 2) The towels and wash clothes were hard and rough. 3) The toilet paper and tissue - really cheap! 4) The eclyptical machine did not work. 5) The alarm clock went off at 5:00 AM; we did not set the alarm. The cleaning person must have accidentally hit the button while cleaning. Then the electricity was scheduled to be down in the middle of the night, (by the city.) When the power came back on at 4:30 AM, the alarm clock was flashing and beeping. There was no back-up battery in the clock, so again we were woke up, this time at 4:30 AM. 6) Although the power was restored at 4:30 AM, their internet service was not restored until 11:30 AM. 7) During a rainy day we went to the pool. The roof was leaking and rain water was dripping into the pool and surrounding pool area. 8) The TV made a horrible humming/scratching noise. We would just turn it off because it was too disturbing to watch anything. 9) The coffee pot was located in the bathroom. How gross; especially when there was a counter, sink, fridge and microwave in a separate area that could have been used for the coffee pot if they had placed an outlet above the counter. We have been here six nights and are leaving a day early just to be able to sleep in a comfortable bed. We would not stay again due to the reasons listed in this review. The number one reason would be the bed! The Schneider's from MN.

I really liked the hotel rooms, would stay again, that was the 3rd Holiday Inn Express I stayed in that week, loved them all. Needed to have wireless internet in rooms.

My husband and I were finally child free and decided to celebrate our 3rd year anniversary a few days early. Upon discovering our ol reliable venue was booked for the night, we decided to give the Holiday Inn Express a try. Because of our special occasion, we spent the extra money on a jacuzzi suite. All of our events for the evening were going just as planned and on schedule, so we decided to top the night off with a nice relaxing soak in the jacuzzi tub with the fire place burning. Much to our dismay, both the jacuzzi AND the fireplace were not in working order. After several attempts we finally gave up and called the front desk. The clerk did come up to our room at 12:30 am (yes...AM) to try and jump start one or the other. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to get them working propperly either. The next morning upon checkout, I described our difficulties from the night before. Apparently our file was not notated as promised. However, we did end up with a $40 discount. I suppose we paid for what we got instead of getting what we originally paid for. All in all, we did have a good time...but all our enjoyment was outside the hotel and would have been complimented with the accomidations we thought we were getting. Extremely comfortable beds, very clean rooms, huge jaccuzi, has a variety of indoor activites onsite. We would probably stay at a Holiday Inn again, but we wouldn't rely on them to give our special occasion that extra added spice. We will only attempt a standard room.

The staff was very friendly and very accomodating, they went out of their was to make the stay happen and enjoyable, the hotel was clean and centrally located, Reasonably located for Mount Rushmore, The Black Hills and Sturgis. The room was spacious and clean(it had a Jacuzzi tub and a fireplace, wireless internet and a decent size TV), Lounge was located either next door at the restaurant or across the street in the other restaurant. An excellent stay for the value.

When we arrived our rooms were averagely clean. The beds were extremely soft! Not recommened for back troubles. There was a "shortage of clean towels". The hot tub was broken. Breakfast was mediocre.

I have stayed in alot of Holiday Inns through my travels I have never slept on a more comfortable bed or had a pillow that was finely comfortable.The service was great too they were friendly and helpful.The location was perfect across the street are some restaraunts and one on the backside.The mall is right up the road and so is a movie theater you could walk to all if you chose to do so.I have recomended it to all my friends and family.I personly will only stay at this location whin I'm there the only thing that was wrong was the pool and hot tub were a little cold.The room was as clean as you can get it.
