We booked the Snoopy's Carowinds package online which stated 1 night stay in a King room with 2 Carowinds tickets. The rate was awesome so we jumped at it (this was a birthday present trip). We had no way of knowing it was a mistake. We even called the hotel the night before we arrived. When we arrived at the hotel after our 3.5 hour drive from Raleigh to Charlotte, the woman at the front desk said it did not include tickets. I told her that my emailed confirmation said it did and to please check the Wingate website. When she did, she realized she was wrong so she called the manager Todd Blanton to the front. He saw the "mistake" and laughed at us and said there was no way he would honor our reservation. Told us we had to pay an additional $74 which we did not have the money to do. He pretty much laughed at us and with a smirk on his face kept talking over us telling us to pay the additional $74. I asked to speak to corporate, he gave me a number on a placard in the lobby. I called the Customer Care number, waited on the line almost 25 minutes before speaking to someone. She put me on hold and then hung up on me. I called three more times before I ever got back with someone (also had to wait an additional 20 minutes on hold before I talked with the second guy). They said I would hear from the manager at the hotel - yes, the rude one. In the end, we refused to pay the additional $74 (as we did not have the money to do so), canceled our reservation and drove home to Raleigh! This is the perfect example of false advertising. So BEWARE! Your confirmed reservation means absolutely nothing at this hotel!

Was traveling for business; the hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very nice! They have a 24 hour airport shuttle!! This was a great asset. They breakfast was very good also. When I got to my room my remote didnt work, I called the front desk and within 5 min they had someone bring me a new one. Great customer service. Will stay there every time I am in Charlotte

I would not recommend this hotel, the staff was extremely unfriendly, unprofessional and rude. I checked into the Wingate at Wyndham Charlotte I-77 on 09/19/09. I went into my room, put my items on the bed and went to open the curtains to let some light in at which time I was stung by a wasp and my arm began swelling and burning. My friend let the wasp out of the window at which time he saw a huge wasp's nest on bricks right outside the window. I then went to the front desk to check out to go to the hospital. I filled out an incident report and I was told that I would get a refund. No apology was given that I was stung by a wasp in this 3-star hotel or even an are you okay, is there anything that we can do. We then left to get pictures of the wasp's nest from the outside of the hotel. After that I went to sit in my car and my friend went back into the hotel to get pictures of the nest from inside of the room. At that time the general manager asked my friend to go and get me out of my car and to come back into the hotel. I went into the hotel at which time he asked for both of our ID's and I asked him why and he stated that since I was making a big deal about the situation at which time I cut him off and said that the only thing big was the swollen golf ball on my arm from where the wasp had bit me. The general manager then said sarcastically with a smile on his face "Do you need an ambulance". To make a long review short, I would not stay in this hotel even if I was given a free night. I would not waste my hard earned money on an establishment that has no class, no customer service skills, and poor landscaping/maintenance. How are you going to have windows that open and not check the brick window casing on the outside for wasps, especially in Charlotte, NC in September. Who does that?

Great location, very friendly staff, very clearn room, and has all amenities. Would highly recomment this hotel.
