Not even your Motel 6
By Shae, 08/10/08
The desk service was barely satisifactory. I pulled in the parking lot, and from the looks outside... I didnt think I was going to be happy. I checked in, anyway. With my vehicle running, I checked out the room. As suspected, the place looked liked a 1970's motel. There was no fride or microwave. The carpet had stains on the floor. The comforters were dingy and tattered. The room smelled pissy. And nothing in the room hinted to a warm, friendly, and inviting environment. The people at the Toursim spot across the street, the ones who booked me in this dump, actually called it a dump when i returned with my complaints and demands to be placed in a real hotel. They use the Holiday Inn Express, but didnt have any room. Im not sure why they feel the Inn is even comparable. Oh, they know its not comparable! They just dont mind putting you there. Umm... they charge you $5-6 a day to use the facilities at the Summer Bay Resort across the street/4-way. Why did they fail to credit this charge back to my account, especially after I reminded them? If you like substandard facilities, you'll like this place.

You get what you pay for...
By AbigailN, 06/19/08
This was the cheapest selection I could find for our vacation to DisneyWorld since I figured we would just be sleeping there it didn't matter what the quality of the motel was. However, I was thoroughly disappointed by the overall experience. The service at the front desk was unsatisfactory and once we walked in the room we all felt it was unclean and uncomfortable. There was no carpeting and the floors were dirty. There was a spider on my pillow and one in the dresser. We never received room cleaning service for our whole week's stay! Although we only slept there, I dreaded going back to the hotel because it was so unclean.

AWESOME!!! We plan to go back SOON!
By Cindy, 06/09/08
Well the other reviews that I have just read are obviously about the Inn at Summer Bay Resort. Because I stayed at the Summer Bay RESORT not the inn. It was AWESOME. Very spacious, the condo smelled wonderful EVERYTIME we walked in. Plenty of towels, TV's, blankets, and pillows. The pool, lake, tiki bar, mini store, and guesthouse (check-in area, etc.) were all of walking distance. I would ABSOUTLEY recommend this resort to everyone who want to get away from it all, relax, have fun, and enjoy the life. The ONLY gripe I have is the free bus to Disney World. Don't take it, just drive there. It picked us up on time but it took an hour and a half to get to Disney b/c they had to pick so many people up at different hotels/resorts. We thought it was only for Summer Bay Resort guests. And the worse about the bus is when they picked us up to bring us back home. It was an hour late, and so crowded that people were sitting and standing on top of each other. So stay off the bus! :)

Decent

When I first booked this hotel through RCI timeshare, I thought it was gonna be a joke. I actually didn't stay at the Summer Bay location but I stayed at Hoilday Inn and Suites which are associated with this resort. We got access to all the activities and water park that Summer Bay had to offer. Although, we did have to attend a 90 minute presentation the next day, it was not all bad as I thought it would. (reading all these reviews) I prayed and it actually took less than what we had thought. They did not push us into buying it. My husband, 3 year old daughter and I went to this presentation and they treated us very well. We did not buy the timeshare but we still had access to the pool area and all the activities which were pretty nice. Pool was heated and stayed open late and kiddy pool was a blasted for my daughter. The Disney World parks were just about 15 mins away which was very easy to find. I had a wonderful stay and was treated very nice. I would definitely take advantage of this offer again. I read reviews that said they don't clean your room, but we had no problem with that. The maid came in every morning to clean and they also provide towels fresh and clean, for your room and different towels for the pool area. pretty clean and friendly staff. And no, I do not work there, I am actually from TX. So i would recommend doing this timeshare, take advantage and just say no to the presentation.

HORRIBLE
By DEBRA, 04/03/08
I have passed thru truck stops that were nicer!! Sheets were grey, supposed to be white, you could read thru the blankets on the beds. Carpet and bathrooms leave much to be desired. Lighting was terrible.. No internet access, of course you could go across the street to Summerbay Resort and pay .20 a minute...Even Starbucks has free internet access, with the purchase of a coffee. Must say...I will never go there again, and have forewarned everyone I know.

Never go here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/07
I bought a room at Summer Bay through a hotel website. The information that Summer Bay provided for this website was misleading at best. It made it seem as if we were going to be staying at the resort. When we arrived, the security guard said we would be staying across the street at the "Inn" at Summer Bay. The "Inn" is a motel across the street from the resort. It was obviously a Motel 8 or something similar before Summer Bay resorts bought them out. This resort is a time share. When we arrived, the lobby was filled with angry customers, like me, who had been mislead from the very beginning. Since it was late at night, we decided to just spend the night there anyways. The room was DISGUSTING. We found one live cockroach, and two dead cockroaches on the carpet of our room. There were also cobwebs in the corners of the room. In addition, it's impossible to get a decent shower. I'm 5'10 (average height), and the shower head was so short, it only came up to below my neck. It's like the shower was made for midgets or something. Since we had gotten in late, we decided to sleep in until 9am. Unfortunately, we were called at 8:15am, by a guy trying to sell us a time share. When we checked out, we found out that the guy who called us had set up a table in the lobby of the Inn, and was cold calling all of the people staying at the Inn, in an attempt to sell them a time share. My guess is he makes commission off of his sales. So as a run down, this is basically how it went: 1- We were mislead. 2- The hotel room was disgustingly gross and in-efficient. 3- Woken up early in the morning by a salesman. If you book a room at this motel yourself, you will be paying over $70 a night, EASY. We stayed at a Days Inn the next night for $20 cheaper, and the room was a thousand times cleaner and nicer. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from this place. The resort across the street is obviously much nicer, but I can't respect the company itself, since their advertisement was misleading, and because they refused to even give us a refund or work with us on getting a better room. I will never visit Summer Bay ever again.

Not Bad
By Ramón, 01/09/07
The rooms are clean, and its close to Disney Parks. If you need a luxury hotel with big rooms a huge attentions this is not your hotel. But if you need a decent and affordable place to stay for a couple of nights to enjoy the parks and only sleep at night this is the place for you.

what a dive!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/06
The room was like a hotel room. We were not able to stay at the resort - just at the Inn. Know one would answer the phone when you called for any info. I would never go back to the Inn. The resorts are very nice. If they want you to attend presentations, why don't they put you in there condo's instead of a run down hotel. We had to carry our suitcases up to the 2nd floor. The door going into the hotel had a gap that was the size of a pencil. You could see alot of light. This was up in Orlando. Down in Ft. Lauderdale, we atleast got to stay in a small condo - one bedroom. The mattress on the bed must have been 20 years old. The middle of the mattress, was caved in, so you always ended up in the middle. I will never go to another presentation again, after we get our Mexico presentation finished in Feb. Seems like our vacation was only running to presentations. They also take about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs or more, not the 90 min, that they say. We went to 3 of them in a 1 week period. There was nothing impressing about anyone of the places we stayed.

NOT AS BAD AS OTHERS SAY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/01/06
Went for the weekend to Bike weekend at Leesberg. The place wasn't NEARLY as awful as others said. No, it wasn't a Hilton, but at least it was clean, convient, safe.(We have 2 young daughters) The resort across the street was wonderful , you can use the pool etc.I was ready to cancel our reservation after reading other comments. Moral of the story .... Don't believe everything people say! It WASN'T a dump like others say!!
