Melia Tropical All-Inclusive Resort, Punta Cana

I hated everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ocean dirty... Food disgusting....The only thing I liked was the night shows.....The service was the worst because the lady came 3 P.M. When I got to my room. The rooms were kind of nice but the rest pf the resort stinked...

I buy this hotel recomended for MK travel, think about other choice, total desorganization,these guy don't like to work, lazy people, they promese 10 restaurant, no, they are only 5, sometime closed one and later open the others 5, carefull with the vacation plan people, now are the substitute of share time, don't use MK travel please, belive me, please

I stay at the hotel the room was spacious. It took us 2 hours to check in and they hardly speak english. It food was horible. They didnot give us wash chothes in the rooms. They smoke everywhwere in the hoel i Hate it. You walk everywhere. The place was 2 big the beach was dirty. the pool was also cloudy. I will not return

Awful service, bad food & waste of time. Be warned. Although I heard "royal service" was slightly better. Otherwise you are treated very poorly. Overbooking of restaurants, lying by staff, poorly managed, and the furniture looks like someone's garage sale find from a hurricane in the late 80's.

After seeing so many favorable reviews about this Meli� resort, we had to experience this �heaven on earth� being described on these pages. I have to agree with most of them in terms of the scene and the landscape; it is really breath taking, but that�s about it.

If your plans are to raise your blood alcohol level while sticking around the pool, or lie down, catch some sun, and watch the topless on the beach, you have it made in this resort. Other than that, think again.

Prepare to deal with the indifferent snobs at the front desk and the �hallway sharks� trying to sell you memberships while you wait unforeseeably in a 98 degree heat index for your room to be ready. No air-conditioning in front desk area and most restaurants. Check-in is after 3:00pm. Make plans to get to the hotel at least three hours later.

If you have a weak stomach, you will get sick from these fly infested restaurants. Better keep an eye on putrid seafood. Pepto Bismol = US $16.00/bottle. Take ALL your medicines.

You are better off in the buffet restaurants where you can see the food for yourself rather than wait for an eternity in a reservation restaurant an get served an obscure dish. No natural juices of anything and forget about the vast variety of tropical fruits you were dreaming of. It ain�t gona happen!

Never experienced a power outage, but hot water gets cut-off at around 10:00pm and running water comes and goes. Bathroom towels are a luxury; don�t expect new ones everyday. Left your room key inside? Better know how to pray; God will get there sooner to let you in.

Water sports $$$$$ ! One hour jet ski=US$120.00 per hour.

This hotel is a total let down. It has very bad service, and facilities barely work (those that do) I cannot recommend the Melia

I would never stay here again. Service is flat out rude, the food is not eatible and the rooms are dirty. Also, the staff schemes to cheat you whenever they can. The positive reviews are either old or done by their own employees. Whatever you do, do not stay here.

Recently my family (a party of 9) went on what we thought was a vacation and turned out to be a nightmare. Our reservations were originally for the Riu Bambu, the night before we were to leave we got a call from GoGo Travel (people who are to know what is what) to tell us that a stomach virus was going thru the Riu and we were being moved to the Melia Caribe (it's an upgrade?????). After hearing of the virus we were all very concerned about even going but was told there would be no refund. On our arrival everything appeared to be very beautiful, until we found that it took us from our ocean front resort approximately 45 minutes to get to the beach, and hope you don't forget anything. We had to call for a bus each time we wanted to go anyone because our rooms were that far from everything. The beach was covered in seaweed. As for family resort, between the thongs and topless sunbathers all over the beach my nine year old got quite the view. Their so called family resort, we saw appr. 10 other children, the arcade consisted of 3 old nintendo games and a broken pull table. No activities for the kids. Shows started at 10:00 p.m. and absolutely nothing to do for the children. For the adults little to do also, the casino openned at 8:00 p.m. To top it off, on the last day of our nightmare, our maid was so nice to steal a cellphone ($865 bill), matchbox cars and jewelry from our room, while we went to grab lunch. On the second day of our nightmare we ask the staff and GoGo to move us and they could do nothing???? You did not dare leave the resort because you definitely did not feel safe to do that. I guess it depends what your expectations are, if you want to sit and drink 24-7, I guess you would be ok. Just frustrating to know what you pay for a vacation and because of false advertising you end up in such a nightmare. P.S. The food was far from good, the steakhouse didn't have steak???? You figure

From the moment we were greeted by the pouty concierge who made us feel as though we were imposing on her time until the moment we left our vacation was horrible. The service, the unfriendliness, the false advertising was such a disappointment to us.. We will never return to the Dominican. If this is one of their best I would not want to experience their worst! We had to literally pull teeth for towels...a family of 3 and i was told it was policy to give 1 towel in the room...our wet bar never got replaced...this was suppost to be Royal Service..royal nothing is more like it. Take your money somewhere else please.. we took our daughter there for her 16th birthday ---what a let down!!!! An all inclusive resort should include getting a glass of wine at your table for dinner...not a wine list with prices for bottles only. I assume I could have walked in with a glass of wine but it would be nice to go to dinner and order just as one orders soda or beer. And the buffets are horrible...the food is never out..lines are enormous and you wait forever for a drink. Noone helps and when we got help it was usually the wrong info. The beach is a fifteen minute walk from the Royal Service area...oh, you can take a trolly there but try getting on one...they fill up quickly. Plus you have to wait for the trolly to pick you up. We wasted our vacation time here and will never go back.
