WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/07
First I was lied to about the room type availability. Then I was treated horribly by the staff and management. I was given a key to three different rooms, none of which were the king suite I requested and was promised when I made the reservation! The front desk staff told me, "if you don't like it you can leave!" When I repeatedly tried to explain that none of the rooms were what I had been told was available, the front desk clerk, Mr. Leonard, placed his hand on his hip and in a very effiminate, high-pitched voice screamed at me to leave the property!!! As we turned to leave the lobby to get on the elevator, the front desk clerks started whispering and snickering at us! I was shocked!!! There was nothing humorous about our situation. We ended up staying the night because it was so late when we checked in and I knew most of the hotels in the area were sold out. The room was very dirty, the mattresses and box springs were stained, as was the carpet. My husband had to sleep on a pull out sofa. The next morning I went down to talk to the manager, Ginny Templeton, about how rudely we were treated and she was even worse! I understand why the staff is so rude if they were trained by that manager! She wouldn't allow me to say one word! Simply refused to listen to me at all. She told me her night clerk had called her at home and told her about his "embattled" experience and then she increased the rate we were quoted and told me the clerk who booked the reservation did not have the authority to authorize the rate we were quoted! I've done a lot of traveling and stayed in hotels all over the US, but NEVER, NEVER have I had a nightmare experience like this one! Truly HORRIBLE!
