Wonderful Hotel!
By D, 07/24/09
I usually stay at chain hotels, but I took a chance on this independent facility. Boy, was I glad I did! Wonderful stay for three nights. Very friendly staff who let me pick my room location. Quiet rooms, extremely clean. Pets are not allowed in the suites, so if you are a pet owner or if you have pet allergies, take note of this. Comfortable beds, even the sofabeds in the suites. My only complaint is the sparse continental breakfast, no hot items. Not on the finger lakes, but easily accessible to area attractions. A pleasant country drive of 12 miles to Seneca Falls & the women's rights historic park. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely come back to this hotel.

Wow!

What a wonderful eperience - caring - thoughtful employees (friends) who seem to really want us to have a great time. The Finger Lakes area is beautiful and the proximity to the wine trail areas of Central new York makeshtis a great base station.

Terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/07
This former "Microtel" is located in the rundown, seedy, downtown section of the prison city of Auburn. It was and is a bare-bones economy lodge that is trying to somehow reinvent itself as a luxury destination. From my experience, it was hardly sucessful. The hotel is not anywhere near the Finger Lakes, the only view you may possibly have is of the security perimeter of the Auburn Correctional Facility. The tiny, stuffy, Non Smoking room reeked like stale smoke, body odour, and foul cheese. Simply put, it was absolutely horrible. The bathroom shower had mold and mildew on the curtain and the walls, I was totally disgusted. One employee who ran the continental breakfast was *so terribly rude*. As a traveler of over 15 years, I've never encountered someone so crass in the hospitality industry. Her dreadful personality and rotten demeanor alone is enough for me to urgently warn anyone from staying at this establishment. If you must stay in Auburn, New York, do yourself a favour and make a reservation at the holiday inn a few of blocks over, if you want decent accomodation, to feel welcomed, and have an enjoyable holiday.

Rave - we keep returning
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/05
We have stayed here several times while visiting family in central NY. I've never stayed at a cleaner hotel, the bedding is comfortable, towels are thick, extensive TV channels, friendly staff, better than normal breakfast area for this hotel class, and just an overall great experience. Importantly, the Inn allows pets and has a generous policy regarding their stay. The location is a few miles from the NYS Thruway (10 mins?) on a main road with access to a small mall, every type of franchise restaurant, a mega WalMart, Lowes, etc. It has easy access to all the beautiful sights in the Finger Lake Region. If you are mostly looking for a place to hang your hat while you enjoy the region, this Inn is extraordinary. And remember, they allow dogs! We'll never go back to the other major "chain" hotel in the same town. Their additional amenities do not justify the lack of quality.

Wow!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/08/04
This hotel is great. Not only did I pay an awesome price, but when I arrived, it was clean! Not many hotels can you visit nowadays and get a resonable price AND value at the same time. The staff was excellent. Very friendly and outgoing, made it feel very "homey" for me and my children. I suggest if anyone is looking for a great place to stay in Auburn, go to Microtel.
