Very, very good for an economy hotel
When this hotel was first built, it was like the first of the conference type hotels in Sioux City (I think started out as a Holiday Inn). It is now certainly older, but because of it's origins has what I would call better "bones" than most. But it is now an older facility, decently maintained.
Large and sprawling, only two stories. Drawback is no elevator. I was on the second floor and had lots of stuff to carry up, so was a bit more difficult.
Furniture was not fancy, but was in good condition. A plus is that there is a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Saw lots of families over the weekend and many bringing food coolers. There is an indoor and outdoor pool and an indoor whirlpool.
Free breakfast was surprisingly better than most. Boiled eggs, fresh apples, yogurt, bagels, assorted rolls and cereal available.
I traveled with pets and they were very accomodating. Cleaning staff was very nice to deal with and I was able to get them first thing in the morning so pets did not have to be crated for too long. I always leave a nice tip when I travel with pets and that usually helps them with a little extra cleaning that they need to do, and no complaints to management.
In a more industrial area of town, but extremely easy off the interstate. Very easy to the Tyson Events Center and downtown. Across the street is a 24 hour family restaurant, a convenience store and movie rental place.
I think calling it a three star hotel is a bit generous, but it was pretty comfortable. It is a great value for the amenities.
