Hampton Inn Lancaster, Lancaster

Well we stayed here a couple weeks ago and had to fix the toilet to the room myself.(.No problem) for my time they give me a complimentary room for a night, after we paid over $300.00 that weekend. So on our return visit we get same room with hot tub..My wife uses bathroom and what happens..THE TOILET STARTS TO OVERFLOW..we go down, talk to the clerk (Angela) very nice..give us new room w/ hot tub, and said we would be compensated for our trouble..But JACKIE (clerk) said that basically i was a liar and that it never happened and was not going to do anything about it..Well Pam did take care of it and did give a night free..I talked to a housekeeper before I ever talked to JACKIE , and she said they had to go clean up some of the bathroom the night before, and went back that morning to clean up the rest and have maintenance man check it out. SO that proves that it did happen..I have never been more shocked that a customer service person would call a customer a liar..Every body else at Hamilton was very nice, from clerks (ANGELA) to housekeepers (CARLA)..Even general manager (Pam) smoothed things over..But JACKIE should never be involved with customer service ever again in her life. I have never been more appalled by someone in customer service. We will never come here again for our weekend get-a-way's..The thing is JACKIE is not even liked by fellow workers, and they are glad she only works weekends and nights..

Two different desk clerks were rude. One even had her dog in the dining area. Not sure if the board of health would approve of that. We found the tile as you enter the room was black with dirt after wiping up a spill. Hot tub and pool were dirty. Hot tub was not hot at all. You were just sitting in bubbling water. The only good things I can say about the stay were the breakfast was good; the wait staff was friendly when you passed them in the hall, the pool temperature was warm and they had plenty of parking.

I am very familiar with the better acommodations in the area. This is the best Hotel from the exteme southern rim of Columbus south to Kentucky. On the business route (4 lanes) across from the mall in Lancaster, 28 miles south of Columbus. The hotel looks, smells, is above average. For moderate priced quality hotels this rates 5 STARS. The staff is friendly and helpful. Stores are nearby as well as over a dozen excellant retaurants. I occassionally assist people coming to Lancaster, both friends, family and business associates. This is my hotel of choice for them.
