Bad management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/10
We were told by the general manager, Lee Bates, that "you don't matter". There was a bus group in the hotel and the general manager told the staff that we (6 of us in three rooms) could not be seated for dinner until the bus group as fed. They would not even seat us. When I asked the staff they said the general manager said "they don't matter". When I asked the manager about it he simply said, with out looking me in the eye "have a nice day". We left and went to the Holliday Inn for dinner. Had we not already settled in our rooms I would have changed motels. Advice, if you are on a bus ok, if not watch out, "you don't matter". The next day the Day Manager apologized when we told him of the incident.

Very Nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/5/10
Very clean and comfortable beds. The resturant was very very good. I think it is only open for dinner...you must have the Navajo Taco! I am still craving it. I ate the Navajo Taco the next day at the View resturant in Monument Valley, it was not very good at all.

Beautiful and comfortable
By Denise, 11/12/09
One of the most beautiful and comfortable inns along our trip from LA to Arches to Grand Canyon, etc. The location is very convenient to National Monument. Right next to a Sonic, not so scenic.

Good place to stay in Kayenta
By Linda, 10/25/08
Probably best hotel in the area, though slightly expensive, it is worth it, if you want a clean place to stay. The other hotels in the area look shabby. However, the Navajo Nation is building a new hotel in Monument Valley itself, that may be worth it when it is done.

Great Staff: Comfortable Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/14/08
As seniors, I can't say enough about the wonderful young lady at the front desk that greated us when my wife and I needed a room. We ate at the resturant that evening, shopped at the great little gift store, and slept very comfortably. THAT'S what its all about. Then we had a great breakfast the next morning before going on. We had good service and the price was right. This Inn was like a "diamond in the rough". Monument Valley has a different type of beauty to enjoy. We will be back thru again some day.

Horrible Hotel
By cmarcolette, 10/9/07
What a DUMP!!!!!!!!!! Restaraunt Manager spent all night talking to tables while the servers struggled to keep up. The rooms were OK at best, not worth the $147.00 a night, filthy stained carpets, a large chunck missing from the bottom of the reception check in desk. We will never return

What a wonderful surprise!
By davidanthonyporter, 7/17/07
First of all, this isn't the Ritz it is a Hampton Inn. Having said that, I was very pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel. The staff were clearly well trained and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. I was so impressed that I took the time to hunt up this site to let you know of this hotel. If I am ever back in this area, I will definitely stay here. The high speed wireless connection is also free!

Visit to Monument Valley
After a pretty rough ride, weather wise, to Kayenta in October we were sooooo pleasantly surprised to find a most comfortable hotel. The staff was very helpful and kind. We ended up eating all of our meals at the hotel and were very satisfied with the food and glad to find that they served dinner.

Great Place to Stay
By Stephen Vance, 11/14/06
We liked the cleanliness of the entire facility. This was as nice a place as we stayed on our 12 day trip for the money. The hotel worked with us to help out a person who could not afford a room and to keep him from spending the cold night outside. They have a unique gift shop. Of course, no bar nearby, so if you want a drink, bring byob.

We will be back - wait and see!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/6/06
This was the best place on our trip. The food and service at the restaurant was fantastic, we loved the fry bread and a great breakfast is included, too!) The gift shop is great - I purchased a pair of used boots for a trail ride! It was exceptionally clean and the front desk service was way above average. Besides, Monument Valley is one of the most beautiful places in our nation! We're looking forward to coming back!
