La Quinta Inn & Suites Erie, Erie

Our stay here was wonderful. Staff was nice and friendly. The rooms were nice with large bathrooms. Breakfast was the best part, just because of the waffles, just make sure you are up early or you'll have to stand in line. 10 min drive to the mall but worth the drive. Very quiet place.

First off, when we made our reservations, they told us it was Best Western. When we were driving to locate the Motel on Thursday, July 26th, 2007, we could not locate it. The reason, it changed its name to Erie Inn & Suites. We get to our room, there are NO towels. We are going to dinner & we stop at the desk, mention we have no towels & the girl states they will put some in the room. We come back, no towels. I go back down to the desk, ask for towels. She leaves, comes back with two bath towels. I ask for washclothes and hand towels. She leaves comes back with one washcloth and one hand towel. I ask for more washclothes, she states they will bring them in the morning. I said to her, my husband will need a wash cloth for tonight & one for tomorrow. She then goes back and gives me the towels. I then go up to the room, we have no hand soap to wash our hands, again we go down to the desk. Waited a few minutes until someone appeared at the desk. We received the soap and went back to our room.

The hotel room was disgusting. The bed was not made properly and the bathroom was very dirty. There were pieces of paper and wrappers on the floor and there was a staple in the bed!!

This motel was a little disappointing to us. The room wasn't as clean as it could have been and they were out of everything. We had no tissues (they were out), we had to go ask for tiolet paper there was only a small amount left on our partial roll and none other in the room. We paid for a rollaway bed, but there was no pillow or blankets and we had to go get the bed from the hallway. When we ask for a pillow and blanket they didn't have any pillows, and the blanket we got was covered in hairs. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The pool was small and if you weren't 18 you couldn't go down there without supervision. Plus they were out of towels down there. The breakfast was better than some we have had in the past but the waffle maker needed to be replaced. Overall we probably will not go back to this hotel.

We have stayed at the Erie Best Western numerous times in the past year (our daughter goes to college there), and found it to be consistently clean, the staff always courteous and a pretty good value compared to other local hotels. We have stayed at some of the competitors places that are newer and in the mall area, but found them to be overpriced and not any better in terms of amenities. We're planning on heading back real soon when we bring our kid back to school!
