This is a pretty cool hotel...
By A Yahoo! User, 05/13/09
The standard rooms are pretty uneventfull. But if you can upgrade to a suite...it is very, very nice. The breakfast buffet is wonderful! Parking is a hassle unless you want to pay $21 to valet.

Probably won't go back
By MelissaR, 08/30/08
Overall I liked this place; however, there were some issues. I will list them below: Good stuff: * Great location, beautiful old hotel, wonderful views of Dallas * Service was very friendly, pretty helpful * Cookies and milk! Yessss! * Free drinks between 5:30-6:30 - wish it were a bit longer though. * The room was very cute and clean (water stain on ceiling but it didn't bother me), loved the huge shower. The hallways were like something out of the 1920s, very detective mystery-ish. Negatives: * No free internet?!? I can get that at Holiday Inn Express! $9.95 charge.... :( * No ice machine on floor - had to go to the CREEPY 25th floor for ice - just one strange little room with exposed pipes, a coke machine, and some washing machines. So wierd. * Those elevators are cool & authentic - but very slow - and when you're running late to check out the last think you need is slowwwww elevators! Allow at least 20 minutes to get downstairs, no kidding - if it's close to checkout time those slow elevators are also FULL of other people trying to get down to check out. * No parking at all! And valet parking is $22 per night! Wow wish I'd been told about this before I got there.

We loved the Magnolia !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/08
We loved the Magnolia. It is in a historical building on a plaza. It was conveniently located to many area restaraunts and several area attractions, including the Dallas Museum of Art and the Dallas Aquarium, which are in walking distance. There's even a Starbuck's inside! You can also catch the DART outside across the street. There is a CVS drugstore and several banks nearby, as well. It was very clean and very comfortable. The club areas are very relaxing and the hotel staff is absolutely awesome. The hotel offers a free hot breakfast buffet with Starbuck's coffee each morning, free wine/beer/soft drinks in the early evening, and free milk and freshly baked cookie buffet before bed time nightly. There are computers and printers available for your use. We enjoyed it all, and couldn't have been more pleased with the accomodations or the service at the Magnolia...they are great!!! Only great thing about this hotel was the location and the fact that many celebritys come in and out of there. Staff is semi-friendly. Large turn over rate, my last day with them I had what I thought was going to be a privlage of staying there, absolutley the nastiest bed ive ever layed in. Hallway carpets are stained, elevators are slow and very creepy (stuck in them on numerous occasions), and construction on the higher floors were loud. Beware of this Hotel, now am working the the NEW Hilton Bella Harbor located just 20 minutes down the road in Rockwall. Beautiful Hotel, great location, and amazing lakefron side.

location was perfect
By travel qa, 11/20/07
The location was perfect and the staff went out of their way to assist us with information on ski packages, tours and shopping. The service was great! The complimentary breakfast was a real treat and a money saver. We met other guests from all over the United States and enjoyed visiting with them.

Great fun, but a common problem.
By desireec, 06/28/07
we enjoyed a whole magical magnolia weekend. The staff was a little snippy at times, and I wonder if we had not splurge more on a whole package I cannot be sure we would have recieved the same attention. Now the shuttle that is hotel provides is the main reason I decided to stay, although they said anywhere under three miles, the Sminoff Center was not available, until they said they would drop us off but not pick up. So afterwards we walked away so they would not sit in traffic, but at 10:40 they said they were done for the night when it is suppose to cease at 11:00 pm. Instead they said they couldn't get us, maybe tomorrow, and left us on MLK Blvd!

Very Cool Hotel in Big D
By Jennifer, 06/04/07
My husband and I stayed there this past weekend for our anniversary! Loved it! The hotel was just our style - modern and cool. We recieved wonderful service and we felt very "taken care of"! It was nice being downtown and only minutes away from all the action. Couple of things to note: Our room was a bit small - I would go with a suite next time and valet is pretty much the only parking option and it is $20. Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Magnolia and will stay there again!

Hotel Terrific, Surrounding Downtown Area just Fair.
By Charlie K, 03/14/07
Well run hotel in Dallas. We stayed 3-nights. Got good service in all categories. Enjoyed mature ambience of this remodeled hotel. ONLY NEGATIVE (at this time) is all the Re-Construction going-on around the Hotel blocks. Will be better when they complete re-construction of this downtown, looks like it will take 2-5 years from now. Now is 3/2007. THANKYOU
