DO NOT BOOK EVENT HERE!
By Mary, 3/9/12
I hosted a bridal shower afternoon tea and selected this hotel because of its location, close to the highway, easy for guests to find. I picked from their catering/banquet menu assorted cookies/fresh fruit and coffee/tea. I could not believe what they put out and expected my guests to eat - brown bananas and burned cookies. Luckily I arrived early enough to go to the store to get other food. I paid $450 ($200 was for the room rental fee and rest for the food) in addition, I had to rent linens because they do not provide them. I contacted the manager and informed her of how disappointed I was and expected to be refunded for the food. She told me they would refund me $30 because if "I had come in off the street I would have to pay $5.95 for the coffee/tea per guest". I did not come in off the street - I booked this event 2 months in advance and paid for a package deal!

Unexpected Surprise
By CJR, 12/28/08
This hotel is a gem. Nicely priced and conveniently located to highways and all of the local attractions. Hotel staff were extremely pleasant and made excellent recommendations for restaurants and local services. Our room was large with a sectional sofa, wet bar, flat screen TV and office area. Breakfast was included in the price; continental style. A cafe served light fare and hot breakfast items for an additional fee. Wish list items for this hotel would be softer bedding (the beds were a little hard) and a larger closet. I would highly recommend staying here.

Not Worth What You Pay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/9/07
For over $200.00 a night I would think at the very least you could get your room cleaned up before you return from dinner. I had to take the garbage out myself, not happy about that...no room service...and very disappointed about no jacuzzi...but that's what you get when you just assume with the price.

Family Trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/07
My family (all stayed in one room to save money so that we can have a great visit. It was plenty of room for 5 people and it could have fit more. The room was clean and the room had a refridgerator which was great. The breakfast was great as well. Excellent visit! Less than five minutes to town.

I LOVED the CLEANLINESS!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/14/07
The place is newly renovated. I loved the modern decor and the cleanliness. The hotel was nice and quiet. I would most definitely go back there again to visit the casinos. I don't know what some people expect from "CONTINENTAL" breakfast. They had freshly cut fruits, toasts, yogurt, oatmeal and cereals. and not to mention juice, tea and coffee. It's exactly what we should have for breakfast! I love the care they put into providing us the nice sleek utencils and modern china for continental breakfast! I don't know about this go across to Howard Johnson comment... ?!?!?!?! What did they serve at Howard Johnson? Although, I wish the price was a bit cheaper..

Great Hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/07
I loved the hotel. It was clean. The rooms were beautiful and very big. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary continental breakfast was great. It was definitely a "kid friendly" hotel. Just minutes away from Mystic Aquarium and Mystic shopping area. Had a great time. Would definitely stay here again and again!

Watch your wallet.
By F. Davis, 8/3/06
There was a small safe for valuables in the room, but we didn't use or even notice it until our express checkout bill arrived in the morning with a "safe" charge of $1.50 (plus tax, of course). On locating the pathetic little object, hidden away in a corner, we found it bore a sticker "disclosing" the charge and -- still more remarkable, stating that it would be removed on request! In an increasingly long life, that is one of the sleaziest little tricks we have ever come across -- basically a charge for not reading your bill. Why not also charge extra for the presence of the phone, the air conditioner, and the toilet, and then offer to remove the charges on request? We believe the technical term for this and other such con games is "revenue enhancement." Needless to say, Amerisuites is not on our list of places to return to any time soon.

a good spot close to the Aquairum and Mystic Seaport
By John, 2/2/06
Amerisuites is a good spot to go if you want a convenient jumping off place to see the many attractions around Mystic. Old Mystic Village, a large shopping complex is just behind the hotel; the Mystic Aquarium is around the corner, and you can walk to Mystic Seaport. The hotel itself is new, and the suites are pretty nice, but common areas were a little grubby. The continental breakfast is adequate, but nothing special. The pool is pretty decent. I traveled with my sister who had a two year-old; this place is very "child friendly." I brought my dog along. For families, this would be a decent choice. One thing that may hav colored my expeirence during a July, 2005 stay: the power went out for roughly five hours. They had no back-up lights or generators, causing quite a chaotic scene. However, I realize these things happen....

Would stay here again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/06
I loved everything about the hotel. From the minute we walked in the front door until we left, everyone was so very pleasant. The shuttle to the casinos was great and always picked us up on time. As far as the breakfast, its "free". Go across the street to the Howard Johnson if you want to be waited on. I would definelty stay here again and I highly recommend this hotel.

A Disapointing Trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/05
Amerisuites was very disapointing. The ads for this hotel make it seem like a 3 star place when its really no different from some cheap motels i've seen. Our toilet kept overflowing for no reason and we had to call housekeeping and wait for them to bring a plunger. The room was rather small compared to what it looked like in the ad. I booked a king non-smoking over the internet and ended up with a two queen smoking room. The woman at the desk advised me when i checked in that when you book a room it does not guarantee that you will get that kind of room. Refrigerator did not work. Windows do not open. Pool is very small and not very clean. Days Inn and Comfort in are very close by and they appear to be a better bargain.
