Golden Tulip Khatt Springs Hotel & Spa, Ra's Al Khaymah

The accommodation layout was not what we expected for a family of four, the staff had to prepare two single beds for us upon arrival. Generally the food was of good standard, but it was very expensive. The different restaurants advertised for an evening meal on a half-board basis, had a catch, by being restricted to a set menu, which was somewhat underwhelming for "five star" prices. I would advice that you avoid "Le Chalet" restaurant. The food was particularly awful, as was the service and speed. We waited 45 minutes for one course.(Be careful of the 10% service charge applied to everything). The beach (including water-based activities) was very good, and the staff were very helpful and safety conscious. Be wary of the German visitors. Their towels seemed to occupy every pool-side lounger, even when they were out for the day. The desert safari was excellent. It provided an evening of entertainment and a thrilling ride across the desert. The difference between a british 5 star hotel, and a dubai one is about two stars in our favour.

A really great location with a long clean beach with lots of shades and beds. The sea gently shelves, so great for kids, and the fish swim around your feet. The water sports centre is fun. The hotel rooms are large and well equipped and the staff are lovely. A great choice of food and the sea food restaurant is one of the best i've been to for a while. We intend returning next year.

Transfer from Dubai Airport takes approximately 1 hour, however it is certainly worth the journey.The hotel was full and they offered a town house instead. This was ideal, only a few minutes from the beach and hotel facilities, with golf buggies and other transport readily available. Staff very friendly and efficient and the choices available at the buffet breakfast were excellent. In the evening there are numerous restaurants and live entertainment.With a new floodlit 18 hole golf course due to open, I can see this venue becoming a favourite winter sun spot. the place was fairly new when we went there and it was fantastic. the staff were well trained and courteous and we were given really good treatment on arrival. can't wait to go back next month... p.s. the spa was nothing i have seen before... totally out of this world!!!

Beautiful and quiet ....away from hectic Dubai although in only 45 minutes if we really want to go shopping there. The ideal place for a real summer holiday. kayak, catamaran free of charge...long and beautiful beach, nice cuisine Best value in the Emirates...shopping in Al Manor Mall only in 10 minutes and more attractive prices tham dubai

I liked the setting and the way the hotel was built it looked very Arabian we liked the survice and the location the best and we liked being by the beach!

i actully liked everything the view and the service quite great best hotel R.A.K and the buitful beach where you can rent boats and the cofee shops around the beach and the roons have a very nice furniture so dont be afraid of visitng al hamra fort R.A.K
