I love this place
After a cross-country drive, I popped in to the MH and stayed in the Mary Marshall Suite, and how suite it is with access to the balcony. The last two trips were right after Thanksgiving and the whole place is so warm and inviting, the staff friendly and attentive. I fell in love with Savannah while filming Forrest Gump. It was not until about 7 years ago on a visit I saw the Marshall House on a ghost walk while visiting frinds from the movie. Every trip since I stay here. My family have stayed at other hotels around town, but this one really feels like home for me.

Great Weekend Spot
By Manda, 2/23/10
We had a great long weekend here last year. The staff was very helpful, booking not only dinner reservations, but reservations for the haunted herse tour (I highly recommend this, so much fun). The wine and cheese nightly was a great way to meet other people staying in the hotel. It is in walking distance to most anything in Savannah. The history of the hotel is also very interesting. Just watch out for the creeky footsteps at night,

Lovely
By rachel frizzi, 9/6/09
My husband and I stayed here in early September for 2 nights & we loved it. We got the Deluxe King with the balcony & the room was beautiful! Very luxurious without being fussy & stuffy. Some people might not like going out the giant window to the balcony, but we thought it added to the charm of the hotel & the breeze was great. Noise from street level was minimum. The whole hotel is beautiful as well. The smaller size of it makes it easy to walk the halls and look at interesting art & historical items displayed on each floor. The lobby where wine & cheese is served is sophisticated & formal, but we never felt the need to be dressed up. The hotel is actually very casual for looking so grand. Staff was great. Our bellman recommended a great restaurant nearby which we loved & it wasn't over-the-top expensive. Again, we felt very comfortable & welcome the whole time. The Marshall House feels like beautiful old Savannah because it really is.

Can't wait to go back to the Marshall House!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/08
The only thing better than the hotel itself is the service. The rooms aren't gigantic, but they are authentic. Our bathroom had a clawfoot tub with shower hardware. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. Turn-down service was nice, beautiful common areas, great breakfast...absolutely no complains. The location is perfect!

Beautiful Hotel!!
By Ashley Snider, 7/11/08
I stayed at The Marshall House with my husband less than two weeks ago. It is the perfect location, and is close to everything in the downtown area. From the moment we entered The Marshall House we were beyond taken care of by the staff. They were great with dinner suggestions and calling to make reservations for us. Our room was a King room that was located in the back of the hotel. Even though we did not have a view, we felt like we were in our own private area. There are only 3 rooms in the back of the hotel. The bed and pillows were so comfortable! I wanted to take the pillows home with me! The atrium area is where breakfast is served. It is a very bright and full of beautiful plants. There was a good selection of food, pastries, blueberry muffins, fruit, scrambled eggs, susage, etc. Our anniversary is coming up in a couple of months and we have already decieded to celebrate it at The Marshall House!! I can't wait to go back.

loved it!
By Lindsey I, 3/30/08
Great service, very helpful staff! Rooms are updated, clean, with very comfortable beds/linens. Great location, within walking distance of waterfront and everything in downtown (Lady & Sons, etc) Savannah. Large continental selection at breakfast. Price is on par with other inns/higher end B&Bs in the area. Would stay again!!

LOVED IT! ************

My husband took me here for a surprise on our way back from a cruise. The hotel is historically interesting, and absolutely gorgeous! Very convenient to everything in historic Savannah.

Can't beat the atmosphere!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/22/07
I overly enjoyed my 2 night stay. The valet parking attendants were courteous and easy to work with. Wine and cheese in the evening was a hit w/ the Table games that two people can enjoy together. Two waters a day were complimentary and the turn down service was a plus. At first, we thought there would be only 2 little pillows on the bed but turn down service provided 4 big pillows w/o saying a word. Room was small and the original wooden floors did creek but you have to remember the time period of a hotel your staying in AND I was not bothered w/ it. My room was facing the street but there was no noise that bothered me. Continental breakfast was layed out nicely w/o waiting in line. My only disappointment was no Hard boiled eggs and that's not a complaint, just my eating habits. Location is great, would go back and probably get a bigger room next time. Enjoy!

Great Weekend
By John, 8/5/07
Stayed in balcony room. Room was great. Everything worked well. (A/C, shower,TV,Refrigerator) Very pleasant and helpful staff. Great breakfast room. So clean you would think it was built in the last month or 2. Would stay there again and again. John

Great Everytime
By ColleenM, 7/18/07
The Marshall House has been nothing but a great experience. We have stayed there twice and had a great time. The first stay allowed us a room with a balcony where we were able to sit in rocking chairs on a beautiful wrought iron balcony and watch the rain. Our second stay found us in an interior room looking out over the charming restaurant. Both rooms were historically beautiful, same goes for the hotel itself. As well, the staff have been more than helpful. They have recommended walking tours and restaurants and have always been right on the money. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!!
