One of the best places we've stayed

We had to come to Michigan for my aunts funeral in July. The Hyatt Place was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was great and the rooms were clean. It was a comfort since the reason we were there was not great. I brought My dad which is 78 and just got out of the hospital. He was pleased with the service and rooms. The only thing I might chance would be the breakfast. Basic fruit and bread. Would be nice to have a little more varity. Have stayed in lower budget places that serves a better breakfast. Hampton servers a full breakfast free. Just a thought. But I really enjoyed the stay and the location was great.

BIG MISTAKE!!!

Upon check-in, we were notified that the fitness center was torn down for construction (as was the whole lobby). When we had made the reservations we asked specifically about the fitness center and we were told nothing about it being under construction. The front desk seemed annoyed by every customer they came in contact with. Internet was not working and we were told it was down on our floor. The next day, the desk told us that we must have been lied to because it is wireless for the whole hotel. Also, they couldn't read their computer screen, so we were told to pay a certain amount and they would figure if that was correct the next day. None of the rooms even had phone books so we could look for another hotel! Luckilly we found Country Inn and Suites nearby and we ended up saving our vacation. Amerisuites was a complete nightmare!!!
