Best Hotel in Lourdes, France
My first trip to Lourdes, France from San Francisco, CA, USA. I highly recommend this hotel to any travelers. Location: a bit of a walk to the Cathedral but in return, you get the best view of the mountains. Service: hotel is run by the best staff from the Director to Chef to service personnel. Don't worry about your French because they all speak English but why speak English while you are in France. Try to speak the French language and the staff will help you. Room: a bit petite but because of the recently renovation, you'll get all the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Price: reasonable. Even the hotel is rated 3 * but I would give it a 4 from my personal experience. Words of advice: hotel is right next to the train station and the bus stop. DO NOT take the taxi, they will rob you blind. On the side of the Cathedral, there is a CityBus kiosque that you can buy a 5-day unlimited pass for about 10.80 Euros and you can hop on the bus from the hotel to go to the Cathedral. Take the bus everywhere while you are in Lourdes. Save your money to spend for a great meal at the hotel. The foods at this hotel is much better than outside. Eat at hotel first before you leave, and you can come back to the hotel for a nice dinner before retiring. Internet: you have to bring your laptop because there is wireless connection with a daily pass obtain at the front desk. There is also a computer at the front desk with a nominal fee.
I found out that after a hard day of walking, this hotel location gives you the best scenery for relaxation, coupled with the best service from everyone at the hotel, you will feel very comfortable while you are enjoying Lourdes. The CityBus also provides daily excursion to the areas around (about 100 km). All in all, why stay so close to the Cathedral where it is so crowded and noisy. Stay at this hotel so it'll make your trip a much more enjoyable one. (Disclaimer: I am just an individual traveler, not associated with this hotel at all).
