Business Travelers BEWARE...
As with most business travelers out there, I stay in hotels about 3 nights per week. Since I am in sales, sometimes my plans change (WITHOUT NOTICE) and I need a hotel that understands this! This Holiday Inn Express is a franchise location with a 24 hour cancellation policy. I am a PLATINUM member at Holiday Inn hotels by the way. When I tried to cancel my reservation, with 8 hours notice, I was informed that the hotel management would not bend on their policy. I was treated rudely, charged the full price of my booking, and basically told that "it wasn't their problem." In business I treat my preferred customers with respect and sometimes I even bend our "strict" policies to accomodate their needs. I called Holiday Inn corporate as was told that they would talk to the hotel staff, but could not make them refund my money. MY COMPANY PAID THE MONEY...it was not about the money. It is about a company caring about their customers and "bending" the rules when necessary to retain their business. This franchise has cost HOLIDAY INN corporate around 250 stays this year (I have 5 employees). Glad you got to keep the $100!!!
