Super 8 Jacksonville Downtown Area, Jacksonville

I called to book this room on way to Orlando. Upon arriving, the girl at the check in counter was friendly but not very knowledgeable about surroundings. The area appeared to be a ran down neighborhood with what appeared to be prostitutes walking around both buildings. We were givin a room in the back parking lot, the driveway exit had been blocked off with fence and bobwire. We entered the room, the tv didn't work, we fooled with the wires and got it on and then the teleph. had a short in the cord. The desk clerk said she would come check things out but we would have to wait. Prostitutes and i guess their Pimp was next door and upstairs, the man made a verbal pass at my 13 y.o. daughter. The women would try to say things to my husband everytime he went outside. The maid busted in the door so hard while we were sleeping that it pulled the screws out of the metal door frame that the security chain was screwed into. Last but not least the room was not clean and we took pictures of a huge roach that came out of the smoke alarm at 2am so at this point we took all our belongings to the car for fear of bugs getting in our luggage. I notified the gm and he refunded 1/2 of the cost of the stay. I felt i should have received a full refund due to so many things being wrong. Also for the safety issues at that location. We were in no way going out of the room to enjoy any thing in Jacksonville. They also offer a pool but I found no pool at that location, so they tell u after checking in that the pool is at another location and can be used by their guests..........JUST NOT A GOOD PLACE TO STAY THE NIGHT, ESPECIALLY IF U HAVE KIDS WITH YOU

This room is an excellent value. It offers tremendous service and nice accomodations. All the amentities without the price.
