The absent owner

A couple of hours after my husband and I checked in, I needed something from the front desk. There was no one there, and after waiting quite a while and ringing the bell, I finally gave up. The next morning we went downstairs for the "continental breakfast". We weren't expecting much but we were certainly expecting something more than a half-loaf of dry-looking bread and watered-down juice (to us it tasted like fruit "drink", not "juice"), as well as coffee. When we checked out, again we couldn't find anyone at the front desk. We finally asked a maid whom we found in the hallway if she knew about no-one being at the front desk. She told us that the owner was supposed to be there, but she didn't know why he wasn't there nor where he was. Thankfully, she was able to give us a receipt. The motel itself is clean and nice, but if you need anything from the front desk....forget it!
