Red Roof Inn San Marcos, San Marcos

The hotel is right next to a busy highway. Really noisy. The lobby roof leaks. Smells like rotten eggs when you walk in. The rooms smell even worse. The beds are old and badly stained. The linens are also stained yellow. We had to sleep on top of our own towels. The breakfast was a joke. Beer cans and diapers in the parking lot. They did have luke warm coffee available in the lobby and our car didn't get stolen. Thats the only good thing I can say about the place.

We stayed at this hotel during our daughters softball tournament and we had a great time. The front desk girls were so nice and helpful, the rooms are in very good shape ad am confused at the person who said this hotel is run down, its probably only 5 years old. I absolutely recommend this hotel.

Rates were higher than normal, due to lack of vacancies in area. At around $100 was ridiculous. Room and fixtures were in need of remodeling years ago. Deionizer was still running in the room, when we got there. Not recommended.

The staff here is wonderful. They are very friendly and helpful. The room is large, had two QUEEN beds instead of double and was very clean. Woudl definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

The entire hotel had a an odd smell of a mix between cigarette smoke and cinamon. Every where smelt like a flavored cigarette. The staff weren't particularly friendly. The room was well made but the carpet and bathrooms obviously weren't taken care of as was obvious through stains on the floors and mildew in the tub.

clean hotel at a good price. would stay there again. nice people as well which is rare.
