Sol Palmeras, Matanzas

Sun, Food, Ocean, Mojitos, Music, and more of this....The Sol Palmeras provides all of this. The staff allows you to enjoy your holiday by providing you with all the amenities that you came for. I have been to the Sol Palmeras over 30 times since 1990 - 2009. My children grew up on this holiday resort, every March Break or winter dash to the sun. The Hotel is currently updating its facility, this I agree was needed, but it never stopped us from returning year after year.

we went to sol palmeras 26 th dec 07 and we enjoyed it so much. we met some great people. the hotel is very nice and the peole carnt do enough for you' i would give the hotel 10 out of 10. the beach is fantastic and the weather was great.and we will be going back.

The overall location of the hotel was excellent, we had a bunglow in the grounds right by the beach. All of the bunglows could do with some updating but that said they were very clean. There was however a lack of storage space in the bunglow so if you go with a couple of children be ready to leave you cloths in the cases! The food was great and the service in the restaurants was good but it is helped with tipping. We went out on a few trips, the locals could not have been more welcoming where ever we went. The holiday overall was great and yes we would go back

the people were very nice and couldnt do enough for you the beach was fantastic right on your door step hotel was nice but the food was not all that if your looking for night life and shopping forget it just a nice relaxing holiday the hotel entertainment is fantastic hence were going back in feb 2008

i loved it ,it was so much fun. everyone was so full of life the people were so nice,it was a great choice and everyone was always having fun.i hope your enjoy your time two,at sol palmeras!

10 of our family all flew out to this resort for our wedding which was perfectly planned and prepared for by the wedding co-ordinator at Sol Palmeras, Even though the wedding day brought rain the staff were brilliant and it was better than we could of ever hoped for. The hotel itself was beautiful the only problem we had was mosquitos which we were bitten all over from but this is something you expect in the carribean. Our 7 year old son is desperate to go back and had the best holiday of his life, I've never met such friendly people who would do anything to please, the standard of this hotel is better than previously described and we just cant than all the staff enough for the perfect holiday, we'd all go back tomorrow!!!

The resort looked a little run down from the outside but it was expected. The service was great although some staff had issues understanding English although most of them get the main gist of what you want. They upgraded my room because we were on our second honeymoon and that was great. Wish the air conditioning was better but we went with a large group of people and found that the rooms varied so I guess it depends on your luck. I am sure we could have asked for a room change but we figured why hassle.The food was good although if you do the buffet, try to make sure they cook your food throughly when you do the fresh stuff. The food on the chafing dishes are generally well done. I highly highly recommend the Italian Restaurant though. Try the Ron Coco for burgers too for the midnight munchies. Mojitos are awesome but they do run out of mint. Bring ample sunscreen and insect repellant. Sunscreen cost $30 CUC if you run out and they don't sell insect repellant!! Tip the maids with makeup, they love it more than money which was new for me. The beach was gorgeous and there were plenty of chairs available. There is also security walking around on the beach so your stuff is pretty safe. Lots of stuff to do with entertainment every night. Try out the dance classes and archery. Rent a paddle boat or kayak and head out to open waters. Definately go visit again.

After reading negative reviews regarding Cuba,thank goodness I dismissed them! My daughter and I had the most wonderful time. The hotel catering for our every whim.Clean, comfortable, lovely staff and the food being on a par with any 5*hotel I've stayed in. The excursion to Havana was unmissable, but the highlight was the swim with Dolphin's. I highly recommend this location.Certainly be going back. May 2007.

Got married at the Sol Palmeras Apr 2007. Beautiful resort, good food, nice service. If you are a bride-zilla, you may want to consider not doing a destination wedding. You have to be pretty laid back about how the planning goes. We planned our wedding and reception in about 20 minutes. I hadn't even finished my mojito. There were 8 weddings I believe during the week we were there. All beautiful. There were also quite a few families there. Lots for the kids to do. Enjoy your trip. I sure did.

I just recently this past February got married at Sol Palmeras resort. Along with 40 of my family and friends we all had a spectacular time. It was the perfect wedding aswell as holiday!! The ceramony was over an hour late starting because the judges car broke down , but by this time we all had adjusted to Cuba time (everything is late!!), so we didn't really mind, just made sure we all had a cold drink to occupy our time. The service was incredible, and the people were so helpful. I recommend this resort for ALL ages, as we had kids to seniors in our group.We will definately go back!
