Overpriced Rooms with Minimal Convenience
This was a nicely-decorated hotel with an extraordinarily friendly desk staff and management, but the hidden fees were ridiculous for only average accommodations. I used a bidding Web site to get an undisclosed rate, but wasn't notified of a $20-plus valet-ONLY parking fee until after the deal was made, so I had to walk three blocks to my room from a city garage — the closest and least expensive. The price for two nights parking at the city garage was almost half the cost of one night valet parking, but the walk was not worth it. The garage next to the hotel closed on weekends and the one across the street from it, which I was told by staff is their alternative to valet, was a rip off. It costs $10 per day, and $10 EACH time you drive in and out. You could easily waste all your fun money on parking at this hotel. Also, there is no shuttle service from here to anywhere in Nashville, so I felt stuck in the room for most of the weekend. So, unless all you plan to do is party downtown, then this is not the hotel for you. The guests seemed to be a handful of curious sightseers mixed with a fair share of overconfident college students waiting for the clubs down the street to open. While it's a great place if you ONLY plan to be in Downtown Nashville during the week, do not even consider it if you plan to tour the city, or might need your car. Oh, and don't book a "secret" room anywhere in Downtown Nashville. It would be easier just to pay the listed price, so you don't have an empty wallet when you go home.
