Not what I Expected
By Michelle, 02/06/07
It was under construction in the area where our room was...plastic on floor seemed a liitle tacky for me. We originally chose to stay there because I thought I could get a chance to relax while getting a massage-only that only happens during the week until 8pm. No massages on the weekends! That doesn't make sense to me-people like to get away on the weekends--sometimes it's the only chance we have...so I was disappointed once I got there...I know I won't be revisiting this particular Hyatt hotel.

Great place to spend a few nights
By Pauli, 12/14/06
Beautiful hotel, set in a relaxed wooded setting with nature trails running all over. It's a somewhat secluded setting, but a multitude of shopping and dining options are close at hand, as are major roads and highways for those who want to drive into Chicago. Rooms are very comfortable, clean, spacious and well-appointed. Beds are quite comfortable. Hotel hosts numerous gatherings, parties and local events, lending it a lively feel at almost any hour. Staff is courteous and friendly. Only two small things troubled me with this hotel... the parking lot is set quite a ways away from the hotel itself, plus the walls are kind of thin and sounds from the halls and other rooms can bleed into your room. However, those issues are nowhere near serious enough to outweigh The Lodge's positives, nor would they put me off of staying there again.

A wonderful retreat
By Christopher, 04/11/06
The Hyatt Lodge on the McDonald's corporate campus is a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of Chicago's western suburbs, set amid woods and ponds with many paths to explore. It is an architecturally interesting and aesthetically-pleasing building in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. The rooms are comfortable and the public spaces pretty intimate in scale. The pool and fitness center are top-notch...not a puddle with a treadmill in a closet. It seems to be a favorite for wedding parties, as one has been coming or going on most of my visits. It will accommodate small-to-medium conferences, which is how I came to know about it. Great for a relaxing weekend getaway, or for a low-pressure group retreat. In-house dining is a bit limited due to the size of the facility, with a single cafeteria-style room for breakfast and lunch and a separate sit-down dinner restaurant.
