Former Honduras Resident

We lived in Honduras in the early 90s. (The last visit date is incorrect but it was the earliest one to pick.)Anytime that we went to Copan, El Jaral is where we stayed. The cabins are great, always clean, a little on the rustic side, and the staff always very attentive. The biggest plus is that it is relatively secluded, and you are not bothered by street vendors every time you step out of your room. When we stayed you could rent movies, set up a horse back ride in the mountains to see yet undisturbed ruins, and there is a green area where little kids can romp around.
I also liked it because, like most highly populated areas in Honduras, the city is noisy 24 hours a day. There are no noise ordinances down there, it's just a way of life. At the ranch, you only hear the jungle noises at night.
We are going back to Honduras for a visit and will definitely stay here while in Copan.
