I will never go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/10
The building seems nice from the outside but when you walk in it looks run down. The lady at front desk was not friendly and acted as if I was a inconveniece. I asked about rates for long-term stays and was introduced to a women who was in charge of that deparment. She seemed polite, and that soon changed. She definitely was not dressed appropriately, fair from professional, I felt as if I was talking to my teenage daughter. I believe her name started with a D. By the time I got to my room I was very discouraged. Next thing I knew I see a roach running across the floor. I told the lady at front desk and her excuse was that "it happens in Texas". After that I grabbed my bags and left. I will never recommend people to go there. It's terrible.

I thought it was great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/10/07
I was there for several months working on a project. I read the review about the parking but they must have fixed that because it wasn't a problem when I was there. Personally, I like the weekly housekeeping, since I was there for so long I didn't have to think about a stranger in my room every day. The place had plenty of room, I really liked the kitchen and the ice maker, very handy. I found it to be super clean and I really like the new beds they got, much better than the old ones! It's a little hard to find the first time you go, it's kind of hidden but that works out too if your there as long as I was! I really liked that everything is included, you don't nikle and dimed to death! Free internet, free local call, free laundry, etc.

Parking a problem here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/07/07
Rooms are what you expect from a Candlewood - nothing special. Close to Galleria, so if that's where you want to go, okay. But if you brought your vehicle...WATCH OUT! The office building next door parks in the hotel lot during the day (some kind of welfare department/social services in there, from what I could see), and it's almost impossible to find a place to park (can you say "door ding"?). It stays that way from 8 AM to 7 PM. Several vehicle break-ins while I was there...seems logical, given the clientele of the office bldg next door.

At first glance it looks great..
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/08/06
Great location for me, I was in town for training and it was right next door. That's where the good stuff ends, it seems like they're just in this to save a buck. They have the rooms equiped with sensors that can tell if you're in the room, when you aren't in the room they turn the a/c off, so when you get back your room can be pretty hot. It also reminded me of my college dorm room, with the cracking/peeling paint, broken curtain rod, and tacky cabinets and dressers. The bed was like a dorm room bed too, it wasn't very confortable. Basically it didn't look like it was being kept up very well. Cleanliness- my room looked fine at first, but on the second day I noticed all kinds of bugs that were crawling around and died in one of the light fixtures. Service- they explain that they only make once a week housekeeping visits, which wasn't really a big deal for me but I imagine it may be for some.
