Not worth it!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/17/11
Pros: Spa is excellent!!! Look for a lady name Lynn to give you the Malay traditional massage. It was first class!!! Welcome tray of fruits (1 kind) Super efficient house keeping (see cons) Friendly staffed who showed me to my room Adjusted my wi fi bill after a bit of a squabble due to discrepancies Pool has nice view Cons: Hotel in itself is pretty average for the price. Most of the restaurants I wanted to eat at were closed for renovation. There is nothing spectacular about the hotels decor, amenities or restaurants. House keeping was too efficient that within 1 hour of checking in someone had come in to tidy up while I hadn't even had a chance to safely put away my personal things just yet. Afternoon tea is average with poor service. Was asked if I'd like tea. Later I had to ask whatever happened to my tea? WIFI !!!!!!!!!!! My biggest issue was the wifi. In a 5 star hotel they make you pay. Not only that but they didn't tell me I had to pay. Furthermore when I logged in with the code they gave me at no point was I prompted or notified that I'd have to pay. So I naturally contested this billing. They only reduced it from 68 ringgit to 30. The shower was clogged! My room door was left open (ajar) while I was at the spa. Luckily nothing went missing though. Pool area is so small I felt that the lounge chairs were crammed too close together. Bottom line: FIND another place. This one is not worth it.

Review of MO
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/3/09
it is very convenient as it is sitting right at the prime location of Kuala Lumpur. People are friendly but the car park could use some cleanup on the smell, especially the waiting area of the lifts from car park to lobby. It stink a lot!! probably due to clog drainage system.

Great location but only average for 5star
By Bahuddin, 1/20/09
The MO as it is known locally has a fantastic location right next to the Twin towers and the Suria shopping complex. Because of this location and the tremendous business it generates the management seems to focus on appearances rather than substance. All have great design but the restaurants are all mediocre by Kuala Lumpur's standards with the Chinese restaurant being the best of the lot with relatively good service. . The last two tables in the Chinese restaurant do provide a beautiful view of the park but you need to book them early. Unless you have to be next to the Twin Towers there are better choices in Kuala Lumpur

Good but pricy
By CHAI, 6/13/08
This is a top of the class hotel - prime location (just next to KLCC), good restaurants, good service and comfortable rooms. But being good means you have to pay more. It is not cheap and meant more for business travelers. Do try out the Chinese restaurant because it is one of the best in town and has won several awards.

A great hotel in a great location
By BradleyW, 12/10/07
The Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur was excellent. The location is ajacent to the Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC shopping centre. I was on the 18th floor and had a wonderful view to the KLCC park and of the Towers. The breakfast buffet, which was included in my hotel rate, was huge. It included a wide variety of bread and rolls. From there, a large assortment of fruits. To wrap it up, the hot breakfast selections included foods from India, Japan, China and US. Rice, chicken or beef currys, dim sum, different types of noodles, eggs, bacon, sausage. The staff was very cordial and the only door that I ever had to open was in my room. That is a good thing. We had a couple of items that we needed and the staff was able to take care it for us as we were gone during the day. The room was large and comfortable. Each day in the room, there as a fruit (pears, bananas, oranges, etc.) to snack on. TV selection was limited with HBO being the only premium channel and no pay-per-view. Overall no complaints and I look forward to a future visit.

Would stay again
By travelbug, 11/26/07
can only comment on the club class accommodation at the Mandarin oriental as I stayed Club Class and it was worth every extra penny. The service was fantastic nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The Club lounge is very comfortable. This is where breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails are provided all included you your club class price. The cocktail hours included a wide variety of food that had a different theme every day and was quite substantial. We stayed on the 26th floor in a large Garden view room, which was very clean and had a fantastic marble bathroom. The pool is small but adequate there are plenty of loungers and very attentive poolside assistance. The hotel has a large gym and provides exercise classes each day. If you like spas then you will feel right at home with the Mandarin Oriental spa experience, the costs are a shade cheaper than British prices and the treatments are good. The hotel location is excellent it is right next door to the Suria shopping centre, which has at least six floors of shops and access to the LRT train system inside. I highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent
By HairiZ, 2/26/07
I had a great experience staying at MO,KL over the Lunar New Year weekend. I did my reservation online through mandarinoriental.com and all my requests was fulfilled like highfloors and twin beds. upon arrival, staff was very welcoming, always smiling, ever so polite and took pride in the bearing of their uniforms. breakfast for my case, was not included in the room rate. nevertheless, the breakfast spread was splendid. from local delicies of nasi lemak and dim sum to pastries and yoghurts. Don't forget to try the BBQ buffet every sunday night! Another thing that is worth the mention is the Vitality Club on Level 3. The facilities and programmes are the most comprehensive. You can choose to run on the threadmill, join the taiqi class every morning or go for swim in a lovely pool which faces KLCC Petronas Towers. Do try to book a room facing the Petronas Towers and KLCC Park, the view is worth it! That's what i'm going to do for my next visit!
