A Great Experience

I had to drive from New Jersey to Augusta, Georgia to purchase a motor vehicle. I made a reservation at the Sleep Inn, through Travelocity, based on this website and the reviews that others had posted about the Sleep Inn.
I arrived late at night and very tired. My room had two twin beds, a refrigerator, microwave, large television, clock radio, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, coffee maker with regular and decaf, and four soft pillows on each comfortable bed.
The room was spotless(it was non smoking) and the bathroom was as well. The shower was squeaky clean. The room colors were cheerful. The room was modern and not worn. I loved my room and all of the amenities.
Breakfast was included, and consisted of a buffet style self service. Cold cereal, 2 hot cereals, 2 juices, milk, bread, muffins, hard boiled eggs, coffee, condiments, and make your own waffles were offered.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. My toilet became clogged and an employee came within 15 minutes of my call; he apologized that it took him so long, as he was the only person on duty at the front desk.
Right next to the hotel are gas stations and restaurants(there is a Cracker Barrel restaurant that was great). The hotel is not more than 400 yards from the highway exit.
One should call the hotel for directions because I did so and the hotel staff informed me that typically GPS and online maps give incorrect directions to this property. Sure enough, my GPS gave me the wrong exit and I would have been lost had I not gotten the directions from the hotel.
I had the nicest stay at this hotel. The property is spotless, the staff is courteous, and the value for one's money is outstanding. I strongly recommend it. It is not a luxury resort; there are no tennis courts and swimming pool. But if one is passing through town and needs a good, clean, comfortable, and affordable hotel, which is conveniently located next to restaurants, fuel, and the highway, I do not think that one could do better than the Sleep Inn in Statesville; definitely not for the price.
