We loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/08
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and pleasant. The view was fabulous from our room on the 9th floor and from the rooftop restaurant. We'd definately go back.

Not worth the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/10/07
Walls are very thin. Could hear the room next to me having a conservation. Sounded like they were in our room. The street construction woke us in the morning and we were 18 floors up. Would not recommend this hotel.

We had a great stay at the Bentley.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/06
The rooms were clean and very nice. The city traffic noise wasn't a problem. The view was great. The restaurant was good. The service was completely hassle-free, both check in, check out, and everything in between. About the only thing I could find to complain about was that it was a good walk from the subway, and when we were there it was really hot and humid. No fault of the hotel, and that was easily fixed by taking a taxi. When we wanted a cab, the bellmen had us in one as fast as we could walk out to it, and even when we started out walking and then decided to hail a cab on York St. in front of the hotel, my arm was in the air maybe 5 seconds before one was stopping. Airport transportation to LaGuardia was a breeze as well. They just made life easy. I booked through one of the online companies and the rooms were priced as booked, and I used my cell phone for calls and paid in the restaurant rather than charging to room credit, so at checkout I had no additional charges. I do wish they had free wireless internet, but charging for wireless internet is certainly not unique to the Bentley. I really don't understand the reviews complaining about this hotel. Last time I was in NYC I stayed in the Crowne Plaza on Times Square, which is more expensive, and I thought both the service and rooms at the Bentley were a lot better than the Crowne Plaza. I will admit that I was a bit reulctant to book at the Bentley since I'd never seen the place and didn't know anyone who had stayed there, and it had mixed reviews, but it was one of the nicer hotel experiences I've ever had, and I've had a lot of them. My compliments to the Bentley staff.

THE BEST Deal in NY!
By Jorge N, 07/22/06
The place in really great, maybe not the best location if you are a tourist that wants to move in the subway, but not far at all, I never paid more than 11 USD to go from here or to here from anywhere in Manhattan by taxi. And also is 6 medium size block from the subway. The room was very clean, and I can say it is kind of sexy, with it's minimalistic style and marble bathroom it is really nice, I can also say it is very big for the NYC standard. Wireless internet available but it costs, but great news you can "steal" wireless signal from the neighbouring buildings and it works, It happened to me. A real great deal for you money, people here is great!! Recommended 100% The cost of a limo from here to LGA is $40 USD including toll and tip. Taxi to JFK is $45 Don't forget to check availability in advance!

Very Nice & Clean
By L H, 06/02/06
From the beginning at Check-In with the friendly pleasant staff, to the nice clean modern rooms. The hotel was great! I would return again for any of my future visits. It was a bit out of the way for the location, but the walk was nice to the subway station, or just a short cab ride to your destination.

Excellent View
By Chada, 06/02/06
The view from the 18th floor was incredible to the point i slept with the blinds open. The view of the river was beautiful at night, and so was the skyline. I really do recommend this hotel. The only problem, which isn't major, is the hallway is so dark. It feels more like an apartment than a hotel.

ehhhh
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/06
Twenty four hour cappucino machine and twenty four hour noise. Nice folks; however, we were given a 'smoking' room upon arrival, and a can of Glade. One night of poor sleep. They were happy to give us another room the next day, which had a beautiful view of the Queensboro bridge and the river. However, 24 hour demolition project below was horribly loud at night, even 17 floors up. Two more nights of poor sleep...

Much better than I expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/05
We all know that hotels in NYC are expensive, so I wasn't expecting much from this one at $150 a night, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean, and the bathroom was much more modern than I expected!

THEY HAVE LOST THEIR MINDS
By Miriom, 10/29/05
Had a 3 day trip to NY. Reserved Bentley 3 mo. in advance because of location. Was told upon arrival "no rooms available that night". Bentley shipped me and child to their "sister hotel MARCEL". Was made to pay high price at MARCEL or be stranded. MARCEL was a camouflaged dump (broken shower & heater, weak floor, gloomy, cheap construction). Was allowed to return to Bentley for 2nd & 3rd night, but event was extremely inconvenient. Bentley showed little remorse. I payed top $ for Bentley's error. Shows poor ethics & management. Bentley is nice if you get to stay there.
