Horseshoe Bossier Casino and Hotel, Bossier City

I noticed some of the less than stellar reviews were written several monthsand even years ago so, it is time for a recent one! I booked the room through the Horseshoe Casino website. When I first looked, the room was going to be $77 a night (midweek). After signing up for the Total Rewards card (free and good at all Harrah's properties), the rate went to $38 a night! That is only slightly more than Motel 6 and this hotel is 100 times nicer! Use the card while playing slots and earn points. (I wish I'd know this when we spent 5 days and a lot of money at Caesar's in Las Vegas 6 months ago!) The people that work here must like their jobs. Everyone we came in contact with smiled and were warm, friendly, and helpful. It was so refreshing! We visited a couple of other nearby casinos. Our impression of the others was dark, dirty, and lacking in class. Horseshoe casino is clean, well lit, and classy. Remember drinks are free while gambling but, don't forget to tip the waitress! Like: Room 2410 (King) was beautifully decorated and clean. Room had refrigerator, coffee maker (not one of those single serve) with complimentary coffee/cream/sugar, hair dryer, ironing board/iron, small safe, complimentary toiletries, big screen t.v. Dislike: The only negative was wi-fi was $12 for 24 hours per device used which isn't much (considering how much money we put in the slot machines) but, for a hotel that makes as much money as I am sure this one does, free wi-fi would be nice. At least in the lobby area. If you have the money, you must eat at Jack Binion's Steakhouse. Very expensive but one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. The service was outstanding. The food was simply divine. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will return one day. It is a very easy off/on the I-20 interstate if you are driving.

I got a decent rate on Yahoo Travel. The room was clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. There were several minor issues with the room such as a broken TV control, missing chair to the desk, non-working lamp, the plastic electrical outlet wasn't connected on the lamp, the couch was tired. The worst part was the buffet. Even the lady who took me to my table said she didn't like the food and I could see why. It was a real waste of money. My dinner roll was so hard you couldn't eat it. A chinese dish was inedible and the corn on the cobb overcooked and tasteless. Overall, people seemed to be having a good time but this casino looks better from the road.

My wife and I have been there to gamble several times. We have always loved the lobby and casino. We decided to book a luxury suite for four nights. The website makes it appear to be hughe but we were shocked when we saw the small room. They talk about their three TV's. The do have three TV'stold that even though we were paid guesttting area is a 27" picture tube. The one in the middle is a 25" picture tube that will not let you watch TV. The want you to pay for movies, porn,etc. the third is a 6" inthe bathroom picture tube. Absolutely horrible. My wife and I both brought our tablets assuming there would be wi fi. There is but after an hour of talking with the help desk they told me they called the Horseshoe help desk and were informed that we would have to pay$11.95 every 24 hours for wi fi. Wow! We drove a half mile away to a smaller casino for lunch and were able to connect to wi fi while just having lunch. I have never been in a suite without a microwave oven until now. You take your leftovers to the room but have no way to warm them up the next day. the buffet is about 1/4th the size than it was a few years back and the food was average at best. We are so dissapointed and will never stay there again

Last week we made a reservation at 10 p.m. and told them we would be arriving in a few hours. No problem, come on down, When we got there (only 2 hours later) with confirmation number in hand, they tell us no room. We called management, they didnt care. I will NEVER BE BACK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. NEVER

So, I make reservations for my parents to enjoy some vacation time at the Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, LA. Room Confirmation code 34TX4. Price per night $131. When my parents arrive, they are told the room rate is $230 per night. NO, the frontdesk did NOT explain that there was a "refundable" deposit of $100, so my parents cancelled the premium room and stayed elsewhere. A BIG disappointment for me who wanted them to stay somewhere nice. So, I call the hotel frontdesk management and explain things to them, do they care? NO! Do they offer anything to ensure a possible future stay at their hotel? NO! So if that is the kind of "customer service" you want at the casino you stay at, then check-in at the Horseshoe in Bossier City, LA. Don't say you weren't warned....

Like others, we have stayed at the Horseshoe a number of this and always loved it. This time, they had closed the cafe, so the only place to eat was the buffet. We decided to go ahead for $19.00 a head. The food was terrible. Better fried Chicken can be had at Church's. The roast beef was dry and the consistency of shoe leather. The cold boiled shrimp was terribly over cooked. In point of fact, that is my asessment of everything in the buffet. It was cooked and cooked and cooked some more. TERRIBLE. I would have been angry if it had been $5.00 per head, but $19.00... beyond outrageous. We will not be back.

This used to be the hands-down best hotel in Shreveport/Bossier. This visit, there were no bedspreads on the bed, no extra blanket. It took 8 hours and 4 phone calls to get housekeeping to bring us an extra blanket. The place just looked shoddy. There was one trash can in the entire (spacious) suite. One. There used to be at least three. The steakhouse, which used to be great, was mediocre. They overcooked the steak and, for some unknown reason, did not serve champagne by the glass. Any restaurant with class serves champagne by the glass. The casino looked dusty and worn. The stalls in the bathroom needed painting. We ate lunch in the cafe. No crackers with the salad. We asked for bread twice, and were halfway into the meal when we got it. Just overall poor service. What a disappointment!

the sofa bed was dirty and sagging. the front desk didn't have a good attitude. i wouldn't stay here again.

THIS IS SO MUCH FUN, I LUV THE STAFF, I LUV EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS HOTEL.......... I NEVER WANNA LEAVE

We just got home and we have never made a bad review for this place untill now. I was comped the room but it had problems. Shower had mold on the tub and curtain and the light in coffee cabinet was broke. The slots are terrible with us seeing no one winning. We use to win there all the time. You have got to have winners even tho it may not be you. You still need some winners sometimes. Food is always great and the staff is always helpful. But i do think harrah's has let the ball drop a little bit.
