Marriotts Grande Vista, Orlando

The facade is stunning; I'll give them that. Otherwise, there's absolutely no substance after that. First, I'm NOT from Orlando, or even remotely close to the state of Florida. There are no shuttles from the airport to the vincinity and so, taxi cost us $50 to get there. Next, the grounds are so huge that if you are beginning to feel hungry, you've got to get out immediately to go look for food if you don't want to pay over-priced meals for not so great food at the restaurants. The rooms: bed was comfy was coffee maker was broken. Views were simply stunning but there wasn't any hot/warm water to bathe in. Complimentary internet services was as slow as dial-up (great if you've never had high-speed internet access). Overall, from MY perspective, a rather pretentious place. Seems to be a place for middle class folks trying to be upper-middle/high class.

We went for a romanatic getaway without the kids, only to have a security gard mistake my husband for someone who stole a golf club in the pro shop (which by the way is open to the public)! We hadn't even visited the pro shop during our stay. The Orlando sherrif's department and two of the resort security gards were outside our room when we returned from an afternoon at the pool,and even though the picture they had of the robber was not my husband, they insisted on searching our room and our car, taking a copy of my husband's driver's license and writing down his description for their report. It drew alot of attention. It was humiliating, embarrising and put a real damper on the rest of our stay. We complained to the manager and was told "they were only doing their job". I would not recommend staying there, horrible customer service!

I stayed in the hotel and it was very comfortable and very reasonable.

Got a great deal with a "Get-a-way week " vacation. Weather was great. Staff did a great job trying to meet our needs. Facility has alot to offer and a great location. Highly recommend.

i loved the picturesque surroundings, and the grounds, pool, atmosphere was terriffic. unfortunately, i feel since most families that vacation in the orlando area are there for disney world and other attractions, that there should be a complimentary shuttle for unfortunate guests like ourselves who were dependent on other transportation other than a rental vehichle. also, i feel that even though it is a timeshare, it might behoove them to have a complimentary breakfast or brunch area that would be low cost for families. one other idea would be to have rental or complimentary strollers since renting one on a daily basis at disney world is outrageous. if just one of these amenities had been available we would have had a wonderful time, but we spent most of our vacation time driving and getting lost. marriott timeshare owner.

First off, the resort is huge. Not sure why people complain about parking. We had no problem pulling right up to our villa every night. We arrived, made a list of what we wanted for snacks/food and went to Publix Supermarket on Sand Lake Rd. The I-Trolley runs the length of International Drive so food and transportation were never an issue. We've never seen so many food choices from Applebees to Subway and everything in between. There is something for everyone's budget. On the fourth day (we were there for 9 days), I had an asthma attack and had to go to the local hospital. The Marriot staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable upon my return. My husband cooked a light supper in our villa. The villa has a washer/dryer so I planned ahead and filled two Nalgene bottles with detergent/softener before I left home. We went home with fresh, clean clothes. I love the reviewers who failed to plan ahead, then bash the resort because of the high cost of snacks, food and sundries. IT'S A RESORT PEOPLE, commons sense tells you prices will be higher, but if you use the trolley and head towards a supermarket or bring things from home, this can be avoided. We were there for the Three Day Faldo Golf School and had a wonderful breakfast and lunch each day. We relaxed afterwards and did our own thing at night (strolled I-Drive as my husband just had to go to Bass Pro Shops, Universal, etc). We also bought an unlimited I-Trolley ride pass at the resort which enabled us to not have to carry exact change for the trolley. We bought our theme park tickets before we left home, did our homework with Frommer's and had a great vacation! A little research goes a long way folks. The staff was right on top of everything and made our stay wonderful! We travel a lot and will definitely return. The hot tub and pools were tops, grounds gorgeous, villa clean and kitchen was added bonus. We also had high speed wireless internet access and my husband was able to keep in touch with our family with ease.

This place is very clean and the location is awesome, but if you're a kid like me, it's utter boringness. For kid's there are three things you can do. Spend more than $20 in the arcade with games that are broken or are a rip-off, Play in the mini climbing maze destined to get you hurt, (which happened with me) or go in the pools that are heated but small with shallow water and oldies (60+) swimming around you, and if you're a kid who likes jacuzzi's, there are 2 for you to sit in. If you're 21, than this place is awesome for you! You have stuff to do all the time. Golfers also have stuff to do, but only nine holes, and a tennis court. Really, there's not much to do there, so don't get caught up in the resort part of the name. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I am in love with this resort... I cant wait to return next year.. Everyone was so nice and would do anything for you.. The grounds were beautiful, we walked around every night I loved it. There was so much to do we didn't even have to leave, but when we did it was nice because everything was so close.. It was mine and my boy friends first vacation together and it was the best time ever.. There was always something to do, the drinks were great There really is not much I can complain about , but the love bugs were def. busy and were every where at the end of our vacation, but we just dealt with them .. I would recommend if your looking for a place to stay .. you can stop looking now because this is the place to go...

Our trip was soured by the attitude of the kids activities staff. Snotty, rude, and stuck up girls who made us feel unwanted. To make it worse, one of the head staff was tattling on her co worker to a boss in the hallways when we were sitting at the computer station able to hear it all. Talk about class! I travel for work and I have to say this is the most rude and unprofessional staff I have come across. A few of the guys at the front desk are nice but that was it. Oh and we saw a roach crawling on the door frame in the lobby. Also the lobby doesn't have any cell phone access, it is cut off. If you have to wait there for anything be prepared to go outside to get any cell reception. Would never go back.
