Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Panama, Panama City

The staff was great and billingual. Anytime we needed anything they were there to meet our needs. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast was great every moring! We stayed in a suite and the room was very big , including a huge bathroom, microwave, fridge, and dinning room table for four.

Pool area was filthy! When reported to the MANAGER on duty, nothng was done! My children had to wear shoes at the pool area due to the old, rotten food and cigarette butts all over the place. For the money $130.00 per night, it was disgusting! The hotel is not aroeund anything other than TGIF which wasn't clean either. All in all, stay downtown at a Marriott or Ceasar Hotel. They were 5 star and beautiful!! Same price too and REAL service with the best restaraunts all around to choose from! This place is THUMBS DOWN ALL THE WAY!!

I spent 2 days travelling from San Francisco to Panama City. Needless to say it is a lot warmer in Panama City than San Francisco. I arrived late afternoon, took a taxi to the hotel and wow, what a view. The hotel itself is very nicely appointed. The front desk staff were effecient and friendly. Luckily they spoke English, since by the time I arrived I could hardly speak my own language let alone a second one. TGIF restaurant is adjacent to the hotel and offers good food at reasonable prices. I arrived on St. Patrick's Day and was delighted to see the traditional decoration and costuming in the restaurant. And... my room was lovely and included all the amenities including satellite TV.

The canal side pool served as excellent place to rest, rooms were nice and staff was helpful and friendly. They arranged taxis when we needed it and the breakfast was a decent size spread.

Service and the stay were very well. I would definitly stay there again or recommend it to others.

Awesome location with views of the canal and Pacific ocean and the Bridge of the Americas. You can watch ships enter and exit the canal from your balcony or from poolside or from TGIFriday's. The bike/walk trail begins at the hotel and continues for two miles out the causeway to Flamenco Island with views of Taboga Island in the Pacific and views of downtown Panama City over the Bay of Panama. The hotel itself is more upscale than your average Country Inn. There are five floors, two elevators, a great hot and cold breakfast buffet and very accomodating bilingual staff. This hotel will be my home hotel for all my future visits to Panama. One other note: downtown Panama City is about eight minutes and just a few dollars by taxi.

My team had a three day layover in Panama. This was the least expensive hotel, but also one of the best I have ever stayed in. The rooms were beautiful, the restauraunt convienent, and the views absolutely gorgeous!
I'm actually planning on coming back here for my honeymoon...
